Chapter 4:
I woke up at 10 o'clock, and immediately remembered the girl. I ran up the stairs and checked the closet, the mark was still there. Perfect, I grinned and took a picture of it. I went back downstairs while sending the picture to Elena. I needed her to come down here, I walked into the kitchen to see my parents cooking. I sat down in the stool, still on my phone when my mom came up to me,
"What was all that noise last night? I heard a slam which woke me up"
Oop, I had to think quickly uh um..
"Oh I fell off my bed" I responded.
"Why did you sleep in the living room?" My dad asked, taking a sip of coffee.
"I was.. watching a movie and fell sleep."
My dad looked at me weirdly but just ignored it. I grabbed some pancakes and got a text back from Elena. I wanted her to come here.
"Can Elena come over today?" I looked up from my phone.
"Yea sure what time?" My dad asked as he put on some music.
"Like.. around.. now? maybe?"
He turned to look at me
"Alyssa why didnt you tell us earlier, you know I hate late planning."
"I know sorry.." I said looking down at my pancakes. My dad stayed quiet thinking about it and then he said yes. 20 minutes later she came and we went straight to my room. I started telling her about all the stuff that happened, the marks, my dog, what the girl looked like and what she said. Elena was so shocked, she didnt really have much to say. She looked up,
"You should get a priest, my uncle is a priest, he can bless your house"
"No, the girl said she could give me something, something I want."
"Well.. What do you want?"
"I dont know," Elena looked at me confused "but she knows and I want to know what it is."
"Alyssa what if its a trick?"
"I want you to come with me." I blurted out.
"What no!" She stood up and grabbed her things.
"Elena please! I need you!"
"This is crazy! Dont you see!? You need to tell the girl no!" She exclaimed.
"Please I know its crazy, but I really need to know and I would feel safe if you came with me! Please?" I knew this was crazy but curiosity was getting the best if me. She looked away from me, thinking of what she'd do.
"What else do you know about this girl?"
"Well I know she can take us some place, I think its Mortem, do you remember that?" The Mortem isnt heaven or hell, its inbetween. When I saw the girl in my childhood I always saw her write the word Mortem. I was curious and looked up the word, it meant death in latin. I remember telling Elena about it, she was the only one who knew.
"Death!? You want to die!?" She rose her voice with wide eyes.
"No! Its a place." I explained.
She looked away to think again.
"Alyssa i can't believe i am actually doing this but-"
"You'll come with me!?" I cut her off from excitement.
"Uhm no, well maybe I dont know, I'll be with you when she comes and then I'll decide." She said calmly.
"Alright thats better than nothing i guess, thank you." I hugged her.
"We dont even know her name. Lets name her haha" Elena laughed.
"Hmm.. Candace?"
"Sure haha" We started laughing.
For the rest of the day we just kind of relaxed, we were talking about what The Mortem would be like. Elena would try to lighten up the situation which made it easier, I'm really glad she is doing this. We decided to write two separate notes for people who wondered where we went,
Ive run away. No I wasn't taken do not worry. Dont worry about me, I'll be fine. I might come back but if I dont its because I dont want to. I'll be away for a while. Dont bother looking for me, youll never find me unless I want you too. I'm with Elena and we will be fine. I love you all but I need to do this, I need to find out what is missing in my life. You'll see me someday, dont ask me where I went, just be glad I'm back. I might even tell you about my journey but just leave it alone, or I'll run away again. Best forget about it. Love you.

Elena had so many questions that I didnt have answers to, like how long are we going to be away for? Is there food? Are there monsters? Do we need weapons? Before we knew the time had come. The room was getting cold and the smell came back.
"What the fück is that smell, oh my, goddamn" That made me smile but I was still extremely nervous, we both were. When Elena gets scared she starts to swear, which is humorous at times.
The closet door opened and I stood a little bit behind Elena.
"Oh shit." Elena whispered as she saw the girl appear. The girl looked up and looked directly at Elena. Before we knew what was going on she was right infront of Elena's face and we shrieked as we backed away.
"Another lost soul." She said quietly as she stared at Elena, examining her. She backed up as Elena and I sat on the bed.
"This is actually real." Elena looked at the girl as the girl smirked.
"Lost so-?" I asked the girl but I was quickly interrupted as she told me to shush.
"So Alyssa," the girl's eyes darted towards me "are you coming?"
"Where are we going?" The girl never answered my question, although I assumes it was The Mortem but I had to make sure I knew.
"I think you know where." She said with a grin.
"The Mortem" Elena said softly. The ghost girl looked at her and nodded her head slowly.
"Fine." I blurted out. Both the girl and Elena looked at me. The girl held her hand out for me to take.
"Alyssa are you sure, you dont have to do this." Elena said with a worried expression.
"Elena I'm doing this with or without you. Now are you coming or not?" Elena looked at the girl, then back at me, she took my hand and nodded her head yes. I grabbed the girl's cold hand, and suddenly our bodies stiffened. My breath went short and my eyesight went black. A spark shot through my body and the only warmth I felt was Elena's hand.
