Chapter 10:

A couple of hours past we were finally at the moutains. It certainly looked scary, it was so dark and there was fog everywhere.

"If you hear screaming, you don't go towards the sound you stay away from it, just ignore it." William said cruching behind a big rock. We followed.

"We'll need to stay away from the path ways so.." he searched the area, "Over there." He pointed towards the trees.

"Here take these." He reached into his bag pulling out a bow and a gun.
"Which one do you want?"

Me and Elena looked at each other,
"Well you did better in archory last year for gym."

Elena rolled her eyes taking the bow and arrows.

"I'll be using this sword, and Alyssa." He pasted me a small gun.

"Can you shoot?"

"Um. I can try." I said nervously.

"Okay good enough, lets go." We ran over to the trees.

About half an hour of sneaking around and we started to hear screams.

"They sound really close to us.." Elena whispered looking around cautiously.

"I agree." He looked for an area to hide,"Up there behind those big rocks."

We immediately started to rush up to the rocks and layed low. A few seconds later, still nothing in sight. We decided to stay there for two minutes more when we heard a snap. We looked over the rock and saw a crazy screaming, I'd never be able to forget this horrific scene. The cries pierced my ears and I couldn't take it anymore. I covered my ears looking to Will,

"What do we do?" I whispered waiting for him to answer.

"Why don't I shoot it with an arrow, it's silent and nothing else will hear it." Elena said scooching towards us.

"Yes, brilliant. Hopefully you'll make the shot. If not, I'll attack that thing while you guys run." Will said, putting a hand on his sword handle. Elena got on her feet, crouchig low so the crazy couldn't see her. She went beside the tree and from an angle I could see the nervousness on her face.

Her lips went straight, her eyes locked on the creature, her eyebrows furrowed as she took slow breaths.

"One..Two.." She took one last, deep breath, "Three."

The silent arrow whipped through the fog like a torpedo, landing in the creature's head. She got low as the monster slowly turned it's head to the side, looking for her. It didn't see her, it looked straight ahead making one, last piercing scream. I ducked my head, closing my eyes and covering my ears. The scream came to a sudden stop and all that was heard, was a thump on the ground. We lookd over the edge to see it turning into what seemed like black shardes of glass. It was gone.

"Elena oh my goodness." I stood up in shock walking over to her, giving her a hug.

"I am certainly impressed. Thank you." William said padding her back. "Alright let's get going before anything comes. That last scream was a cry for help."

We were getting closer to the mountain's landing. I was extremely nervous because all you could hear was screaming and wheaping. It got louder the higher we went up.

"Almost there, be prepared. Don't answer to anything, they are mocking the sounds of their previous kills." Will said taking a sip of water.

I could feel my chest getting heavy and my hands started to shake. My heart was pounding, my hands were getting stiff.

"Wait stop what is happening?" I started to cry, falling to the ground.

Elena turned around, "She's having an anxiety attack." She got down to the floor and wrapped her arms around me.

"Will, come here and hold her hands."

Will immediately sat infront of me trying to pry my fingers apart. Once he finally did, Elena started to speak,

"Alyssa please, we are almost there, we are so close. Please be strong, we need you, you can do this, you have us." I still couldn't control myself.

"This is way too much!" I cried, bawling my eyes out. She paused for a moment to think.

"Hey do you remember ms donovan?"

"Yes." I was still crying, I couldn't stop.
"Who was she?"

"She was our english teacher."

"Yes and do you remember how mean she was?"

"Yea." Tears were streaming slowly down my face. "I hope she gets punched." I said with a small smile playing off my lips, but quickly being interrupted by me crying again.

"Me too, imagine that she is up there, you wanna kick her ass right?"

I nodded my head, starting to breathe slower. I felt more calm so I let go of Will's hands and layed back into Elena's arms, taking a moment to breathe again.

"Alright Alyssa, let's go kick some ass, huh?" She said smiling. I looked to her and again, nodded my head in agreement.

"Can I have some water please?" Will passed me the water and it felt so refreshing. "Thank you. Oh god how I hate ms. donovan."

"Mhm, now lets go check it out." Will said continuing to climb up the rocks.
