Alex And Meredith

Chapter Four: Age 20

Alex was watching Meredith study for the Medical test, she had a little wrinkle in her nose, with her eye brows drawn in super tight. Meredith was mesmerizing how to remove a brain tumor. Alex was studying, or trying to, how to do a boob job.
"Alex?"
"Yes Mer?" Alex said paying half attention.
"Does that woman in the text book have great boobs? Because you haven't flipped the page in over 15 minutes, is that drool I see?" Meredith said teasing. Alex rolled his eyes, but blushed slightly.
"We're going to ace that test!" Meredith exclaimed.

The next Day
Alex and Meredith stood in shock as the professor announced that people that are interested in Nero will be doing a general surgery, a simple appendectomy. And that that the plastics will be doing a scar removal. Meredith knew how to do an appendectomy, but she had told her mom that she was doing a brain tumor removal. Damn it! Meredith thought. She is always doing ordinary surgeries with ordinary people! Alex however was somewhat thrilled. An easy A. But he noticed Meredith's expression and held in his enthusiasm.
"Know begin." Said the Professor. Meredith walked over to her dead pig. And started the simple procedure. The nurses in training where all around the pigs, a real O.R. simulation.
"Scalpel." She said demanding, the quit shaky nurse handed her a scalpel.
"Do I need to remove you from this SIM? Or will you stop shaking like a leaf?" Meredith sais angry, she knew she shouldn't be taking out her ordinaryness on this nurse in training but she couldn't help it. The nurse stopped shaking. Within 30 minutes she was done. She looked around. Everyone else was still in the process. She looked over at Alex. He was also done. They were the highest in there classes. He caught her stare and smiled. She nodded. She loved Alex, she really did, but when she entered the School she had to be on her feet. Alex knew that but he didn't like it. Meredith re-checked her sutures, perfect. Checked the appendix in the jar. Flawless cut. She beamed. Hopefully her mother would be proud. But she knew better than to hope. The professor dissmissed them and Alex held her hand, as the professor walked around inspecting there work. As he left he posted a grade on the board.

Alex was practically jumping out of his seat. Everyone else in his group was ranging from a high B to a low D. Then the professor moved on to Nero.

With that he dismissed the class. Meredith was walking. Happy for her grade. But how was she going to tell Ellis that she had to do an appendectomy? Alex Hughes her from behind and kissed her.
"Congratulations, babe." He whispered in her ear making her shiver. She congratulated him as well, turning around to kiss him.
"PDA!!!" Yelled Savanna Green.
"Grow up!" Alex yelled back. Meredith laughed.
