I pushed open a large metal door that was located at the very end of the long hallway. My large ears folded back as I continued to push on the door. This was the door that led to the lab and I couldn't get it open. "Come on you stupid door!" I hissed as I pushed even harder.

The door slide open to resulting in me to fall face first on the hard ground. I didn't except the door to do that. I cursed under my breath as I slowly looked up a pare of red and yellow eyes. "Get up, Evris!" He yelled.

I quickly jumped to my feet and looked at the sand colored humanoid dog that was dressed in a gray lab coat, brown dress pants, and a black T-shirt. This was Dr. Rufford, the mutt that took me away from my brother in the middle of the night. "S-sorry..." I was shaking in my pelt as I looked at him.

Dr. Rufford stepped back into the lab and motioned for me to follow. "Come on, Evris." He said ever so calmly. Was this even about me skipping training? Because if it was he seemed to calm about things. I followed Dr. Rufford into the lab and looked at all the weapons and machines that where in there. The place looked more like an arsenal with a few computers then a lab.

"Whatcha need?" I asked while continuing to look around. I've never been in the lab, in fact I don't think any of the teens have been in the lab.

"Mindi Kaitlin Evris." He said while walking over to the computers. "I have a secret mission for you." He explained while typing on the computer. Dose that mean I'll get to leave the this place? I haven't been outside since the day I was taken. I felt excitement course though my golden pelt at the thought of leaving.

"What's the mission?" I asked a little too excited. Dr Rufford gave me a look as he pulled up an image of this round red stone on his computer.

"I need you to steal the Kelix stone from the local museum located in Metropolis." He explained dully. "It's very important that you retrieve it." He wanted me to steal? I can't become a criminal, it goes against everything I stand for to begin with.

I didn't question him about anything though, I was just happy to be able to go outside. Maybe I'll find Ratchet and he'll be able to help me and the other teens leave this place for good. "Alright." I said as I gave a nod.

Dr. Rufford looked at me coldly for a moment. "Make sure no one else touches that stone, your the only one who can do this." His voice was cold. "And if you mess this up your brother will have slow and painful death in his future." I jumped as his threat, I guess I have no choice but to do the job correctly.

"Why am I so special?" I asked out of curiosity. Why couldn't anyone else touch that stupid rock?

Dr. Rufford growled slightly. "Don't question me." His words where cold and angry. "Just go and make sure no one else touches it but you!" He pointed his paw like hand towards the door.

I ran out of the lab. I didn't want to tick him off because who knows what he'll do. I ran all the way down the hallway until I got into the main room of the building. For once this large room filled with tables and chairs was empty. Everyone was gone and to be honest it was kind of creepy. I slowly walked to the doors that led outside, the wolfdren guards usually watched over this door but even they where gone.

I placed my hand on the metal door handle and was getting ready to push it open whenever I heard what seemed to be chair of table move. I jolted around but no one was there, however one of the tables seemed to have moved. I just shrugged, it was probably nothing. I pushed the door open and walked outside for the for the first time since a year ago.
