Ratchet and Clank: The Warrior's heart

Chapter 8

Me and Kaden walked through the city until we reached an abandoned aprtment complex. All the windows and doors where boarded up except for one on the first floor. "Whenever I'm not with the mutt I stay here." Kaden said while walking over to open window and slipping into the aprtment. "Come on." He smiled.

I nodded and did the same, the place was actually nice on the inside though. The walls where a cream color and there was amazing red shaggy carpet. There was full size bed in the corner that had a red blanket thrown over it and there was a dark brown dresser in the other corner. There was also an unlit candle sitting in the dresser, I'm guessing the place didn't have power.

"If your tired you can go to sleep, I know you haven't been asleep since yesterday and even then you didn't get a good night's sleep." He explained warmly. "Because in that place, the beds are cold and you have to worry about some maniac wanting to kill ya." He smirked.

I nodded while laying on the bed. Truth was I was exhausted and the soft bed seemed to make me even more sleepy. I yawned curling up in a ball, you know how cats tend to sleep. Yeah, I tend to act like cat a lot, but it's not my fault. I closed my eyes as I have began to drift into darkness.

I opened my eyes and I was standing in a lush garden surrounds by trees, large oak trees at that. The tops of the trees where on fire and I could hear the sizzling of the orange and yellow flames. Thick black smoke let out yellow and orange sparks which illuminated the night sky. The full moon shone above the forest. This is a dream, I know it.

There strange Shadow with neon green sparks flew from the forest and came towards me. The thing took the shape of a solid black wolf with neon green eyes looked at me coldly. "Mindi Evris....." His voice was distorted and just as cold as his glare.

"Who and what are you?" I asked while taking a few steps back from the thing that was standing in front of me. I know this is all a dream but it felt so real. Fear was rising within me as the creature took a step forward. What if he pounces on me and attacks me?

The shadow creature changed into a solid black crow with the same neon green eyes as he flew towards me with. "That's my secret for now child." He smiled darkly as he perched on my shoulder. "You'll find out everything soon enough, but for now just sleep for awhile and live you're life happily because soon everything you love will be gone forever.

"W-What do you mean!?" I yelled out. What dose he mean? Will everyone die? I thought while hitting the creature so he'd leave.

"You'll find out soon enough, Mindi...." He said dully as everything around me faded away into darkness.

I was worried.
