(Davey's Perspective)
I grumbled and rubbed my throbbing head. I was lying on a bed, that much I could tell. I couldn't seem to get my eyelids to lift. "L-les?" I whispered. I lifted my hand slightly, half-heartedly attempting to gain my brother's attention. Les rushed over to me, and grabbed my hand. "Davey?" I slowly opened my mouth and muttered "yeah?" Les jumped and down with excitement and called over my mother. My mom rushed over with a warm cloth, and she put it on my head. I smiled at her, and her worried eyes brightened. "I'm glad you're ok David." She smiled. I nodded my head slowly. Les stood over me, and he reached down to give me a hug. I tried to stand up and fully embrace him, but my mom pushed me back down. "You need to lay down." She said calmly, handing me a glass of water.
There was a knock on the door. Les went to open it, and he talked for a bit with whoever was at the door. I craned my neck to see, but couldn't quite see. Les skipped in happily. "Jack's here to see you!" he said, smiling. I bolted up, almost hitting my head. "J-j-Jack? Here?" I stuttered, in shock. Les nodded, a confused look on his face. "Tell him I don't want to see him." I barked. Les frowned. "Why not? He's your best friend?" I shook my head. "Not anymore." I grumbled, lying back down. "Well why not?" Les asked, adjusting his hat. "Jack did this to me. My best friend did this to me!" I exploded, slamming my face into my pillow. Les was shocked. "Please Davey, I can explain!" Jack shouted from the doorway. "Shut up!" I yelled, my anger growing. I knew there had to be a reason for what Jack did, but I didn't want to hear it right now. Les was still standing stick straight. He suddenly snapped out of it and he went back to the door. "You should go. Now." Les hissed, slamming the door. Then he ran to me, and traced the large gash on my forehead. "Jack did this?" Les questioned. "H-he did." I stumbled over my words. I still didn't know what to think about it. "B-but he's Jack! He would never hurt you!" Les muttered. "Well obviously he did." I snapped. "He's not my best friend. Best friends don't beat each other up."
