Chapter 10

The two boys rushed outside, Davey leaning slightly on Jack. Samuel had Race pinned against against a wall, and he was punching him in the gut over and over again. Specs struggled with Clarence, who had stolen his glasses.

"I can't see without my glasses!" Jack shouted, jumping on Clarence and handing specs his glasses. "You're welcome."

The boys pried Samuel off of Race and dragged him over to Davey. "What do you want me to do with him?"

"Punch him, duh!" Buttons sighed.

"Oh, I don't believe in the concept of revenge..."

"Just punch him!" Finch groaned.

"Well...I guess he deserves it." Davey said to himself, and then he punched Samuel square in the jaw. The boys hooted and clapped, while Samuel looked extremely pissed.

"You still need me?" shouted Spot from the top of the building.

"Just hit that guy." Jack cried, pointing at Clarence. Spot proceeded to hit him in the head with a rock.

"My work is done. See ya, walking mouth." Spot chuckled, running off.

"That was weird." Davey muttered. Jack shrugged, and stomped over to Samuel.

"Never hurt my friends again." Jack whispered in Samuel's ear menacingly. He glared at Clarence and then stomped off, dragging Davey with him.

"Wait, what are we going to do about them?" Davey asked.

"Nothing. They'll leave you alone from now on, unless they really want a beating." Jack replied, smiling. "I'm really really sorry Davey. I was stupid, and I was a coward. I honestly cannot live with myself right now."

"Jack, it's alright. You were forced too. And we all make mistakes." Davey said, hugging Jack tightly.

"Thank you Davey."
