Chapter 9.........Triple Frustrations

"Ok -lick-, why don't -lick- you -lick- tell me -lick- what the -lick- is going on? -lick-." I asked curiously as I eagerly divulged in the creamy goodness of the cream cheese frosting that donned the top of my red velvet cupcake. I didn't spare the guys a single glance as I continued licking the icing in a circular pattern which eventually made the shape of a cone resting on the red, fluffy mini-cake that was begging for me to take a bite.

"Dammit Rachel! You have GOT to quit eating that cupcake like that!" exclaimed a very, VERY starved looking Tristan. Although, I have no clue as to why he looks so friggin hungry, he just had two plates full of food and three glasses of lemonade.

"Eating it like what? This is how -lick- always -lick- my cupcakes." I said innocently, I could feel how my eyes grew big and round as I said this, I really don't know what he's talking about, no one has ever complained about the way I eat my dessert, so why is he? I was about to question this when Tyler of all people spoke up saying,

"Um, Ra-Rachel, he's right, you sh-should stop." my gaze flickered over to Tyler who was wearing the same look as Tristan, but more controlled. I also noticed that Tyler's hands were gripping the couch cushions so tightly that I could see his veins beginning to pop out. What the heck is wrong with these guys?

"Guys seriously -lick- , why are -lick- acting so strange? Mark is perfectly fine with me eating like -lick- right Mark?" I questioned without looking at him, but continuing to gaze at my masterpiece as I try to figure out my next plan of attack. Oh wait, maybe they're so upset because I skip over words almost every time I take a lick. Nahhh, that can't be it, I know at least Tyler has more patience than to let something like that bother him.

I heard a slight groan and I snapped my head up just in time to see the boy I questioned jump up and practically run from the room. Seriously? Him too? Ok, enough is enough, so much for enjoying my delectable treat. I gazed at my baby one last time admiring the contrast between the light colored frosting and the rich, red cake, and then quick as lightening, popped the whole thing in my mouth. If seeing me eat a cupcake the way I normally do causes them this much trouble, then I'll just have to eat them quickly.

As I continued to chew my dessert, I noticed that it was eerily quiet in the basement which is where the guys and I decided to have our 'talk'. I looked up from my spot on the comfy, leather-covered, oversized recliner -when I say 'oversized' I mean it's big enough to fit TWO slightly above average people- and I saw that Tyler and Tristan were still staring at me, but they looked slightly disgusted and supremely amazed now.

"What?" I asked, but it came out -along with a few crumbs- distorted and sounding like "Whaff?" because I had a mouthful of cupcake. Oops!

"Yeah, oops" I heard Tristan mummer disbelievingly while shaking his head full of hair, like he couldn't fathom that a girl would eat so sloppily in front of -wait a minute, I didn't say 'oops' out loud. I'm sure of it this time, so how the heck did he know?

Before I could confront Tristan, Mark returned with a calm, almost happy expression on his face. I swear, that boy has more mood swings than a bipolar pregnant woman!
