The marriage!

Chapter 3

As I knocked on the door of my father's room there was no responses so I decided to open the door and I found that my dad wasn't there.

"Mum! Where's dad? " I asked my mum who was preparing dinner in the kitchen.

" He went to the mosque to pray but I guess he is on the way home now." my mum answered.

"okay. What are you preparing?? Can I help you? " I asked.

"Sure darling, today's dinner is naan with tandoori chicken. " she answered.

I did the frying of the naan and weirdly my mum was too quiet. I knew something was going on but they were hiding.

After preparing the dinner I and my mum went to watch TV. About one hour later, my dad came.

"Dad you said you want to talk to me? What is it about?" I asked anxiously.

"Calm down jassmin! Let's have dinner first " I was so disappointed at his response what is that he was hiding... I wanted to know badly.

After my mum done serving the dinner, we said our dua(prayers) before eating and ate our dinner . We normally didn't talk that much during our dinner because we believe it is disrespectful.

After dinner, my dad went to his room an I followed him. My heart was beating fast and I didn't know why.

"Jassmin dear, do you know recently our company had losses and I had no choice but I was thinking of closing down the company". My dad say, I couldn't believe what he was saying how could he hide this from me.

" Dad why didn't you tell me? How could you not tell me ?? " i was really upset and anger filled me.

My dad looked at me and said "No dear, i was really worried about you, i didn't want you to be stressful over this. Is not that i am hiding this from you! I really hope you understand me. But now the company is doing fine. Don't worry!"

I was relieved that the company was doing fine but how was it possible so i asked my dad.

"Alhamdulillah to hear that ! But Dad who helped us ?" I was curious to know and whoever was the person may allah bless him!

" That's why i called you here Jassmin. The person who helped me was actually my best friend Ali's son Yusuf. He took over the business from his dad and he made a deal with me ?" my dad said, i noticed the change in my dad face when he say that he made a deal.
What was the deal about i thought to myself.

" Jassmin, i need you to know that whatever i decide for your life is actually the best i can do! I am not forcing you into this." my dad said. Now i sense that the deal was something got to do with me, but what can i do ! Whatever is it i will try my best to do it.

" Jassmin, the deal is that yusuf's dad wants you to get married to his son!??I really hope you will think about this. Don't think that i am forcing you because it is your choice. But i really hope you will think this through" my dad says. i was shocked, i felt that i am being sold off but i need to think about this because it is about my life, i need to talk to aisha about it.

"Okay dad, i need to time to think. Does mum know about this?" i was hoping the answer to be a 'no' because my mum as ever hide anything from me.

"yes dear, she knows i was the one who told her not to tell you because we were just waiting for the right time." I was totally blanked out. Just then my dad's phone rang.

"Sorry jassmin, i need to attend this call now. And one more thing, Aisha family will be here for dinner tomorrow " With that my dad went to attend the call. I can't wait for aisha to come i need to talk to her about this.

AMIN POV

The moment i reached home my mum and sister were watching tv. I gave them salam and told them that Jassmin's dad has invited us to their house tomorrow for dinner. Both of them were excited to hear this . After having my dinner i went to my room, i couldn't help but was feeling super excited and i didn't know why.

I don't know if i should tell my mum about this feelings i had over jassmin and ask her to talk to Jassmin's dad. I never thought that i will be mad over a girl especially Jassmin because when we were young we used to be close friends and i can't believe now i want her to be mine. When i was thinking about her, my phone rang, it was my friend yusuf. He took over his dad business after completing his studies.

"Assalamakalium yusuf, how are you? "

"Waalaikumsalam Amin! i am fine . How are you man? It has been very long since the last time we talked. Forget me is it. "

"No, a bit busy though finding job currently .......and amin can i tell you something? But you shouldn't make fun of me okay ?"

" Okay sure what is it ? i have some good news for you, but you tell me first?" Yusuf said.

" Okay well, i think i am in love with a girl " i said.

" Congratulations man, who is that girl? " he seemed curious about it though.

" She is my sister's friend. Okay that's it now tell me what was the good news you have for me?" i asked.

" Well, you said you were looking for a job right, i currently have a manger position available are you interested to work in my company?"

"Sure no problem, of course i am interested will see you tomorrow at your office "

"Sure no problem, need to go, Take care"

"Bye" with that i hang up the call.
