Yusuf POV

After 3 weeks........

"Why does it have to happen to me ? I thought i am going to be happy with my life. How am i suppose to marry Jassmin when i am having cancer? NO ! I really cant do that. she has a life to live and i don't want to destroy it ." This were the thoughts that were going through in my mind.

I drove to the mosque to pray because i know HE has plan for me and he knows what is going to happen to me ? i am going to speak to him and ask him a way out of this marriage and also to grant Jassmin the life she deserve.

Jassmin POV

Here we are done with most of the wedding preparations and it was decided that my mehndi function will be held the day after tomorrow. I dont know why but yusuf has not been texting me like he used to. I guess he is busy with his work and also with the wedding preparations.

"So, the bride what's happening? You look tensed." Aisha asked me no matter what she always understands me.

"Ya Aisha , i am better just feeling a bit down because next week i will be getting married leaving you, my family and my loved ones i cant take it .... i am feeling afraid i am not sure if i am ready for my married life,?"

" Come on jassmin, i dont think so Yusuf is a bad guy, he will allow you to visit your parents and me as well and he wont force you, he is a good guy i am sure you know about him well right by now?"

"Yes ...but i don't know" i told her , thinking about leaving them kills me. they have been a part of my life since young and i think i cant do anything because there is a point in our life where people will have to leave us or we leave them.

Yusuf's POV

I am going to tell my parents the truth today. I know it will hard for and hard for them to accept it. But i cant let Jassmin's life to be spoilt by me. Ever since, i knew i had cancer i didnt talk to her.

When I reached home from work, my mum was in the kitchen and dad was watching the news.

"As salaam kalium Yusuf , how was work ?'

"Alhamduillah dad, it was good. Mum could you come here. I have something to tell you both. It's very important." I told her. My mum came quickly and sat down.

"What I am going to say will be difficult for you to hear. I am sorry for not informing it earlier. About three weeks back, I went to see Uncle Omar because I was having headaches and he took a blood test. The results came out...." I paused for a while.

"Ya Allah, are you fine ? What was the results? Is it bad?" My mum start panicking.

"Mum and Dad, just think this is Allah (SWT) plans and don't be devastated. The results aren't positive. Mum i am having blood cancer " i cried as i said it.

"Is in the last stage and no cure for it. Maybe i will only have less than a year to live." i said and i felt relieved when i told them about it . 

"What! This cant be true yusuf stop playing with us. This is not funny!" My dad shouted but he has tears in his eyes. 

"I know you wont believe it." i took the medical report that Uncle Omar gave me and hand it to my dad ," Here have a look for yourself."

The moment my dad saw the file he hugged me and cried,my mum was in state of shock."Ya Allah (SWT) why do you have to do this to us?!"

"And dad, this wedding has to stop, please cancel it! " I cried to him.  " i can't ruin jassmin's  life! Please dad cancel the wedding. I know it's too late but think about it, i dont wish to be selfish."

Jassmin POV

I was in the kitchen with my mum , she was cooking fish curry with rice.  Technically,she was teaching me.Everyone in my family is happy with the wedding preparation that is happening. 

Just then my dad received a call and he came back into the kitchen with teary eyes. 

"what happen dad? Why are you crying?" i asked him.

He quickly hugged me and cried. 

"Jassmin,they.... they CANCELLED THE WEDDING ! Yusuf dad just called and say that the wedding is cancelled. Yusuf relatives didnt like you, they think you aren't good for him."

"No dad,  yusuf wont do that to me . You sure it was yusuf who said that he didnt like me ? No i cant believe it." i said a bit shocked of what i was hearing.

"Yes Jassmin, Yusuf said that to me!!" he was crying heavily and start holding on to his chest and faint.

" Hubby, what happened? Wake up ! Jassmin call the ambulance. " I dialed Aisha's  number and told her everything not the part about my wedding being cancelled. My mum called the ambulance and it arrived within 10 minutes. They brought my dad to the nearest hospital. 

My mum and I were waiting outside the emergency room. Just Aisha came into the hospital with her brother, Amin and her mum. The doctor came and said " the patient is out of danger and he wants to see Jassmin. " 

i walked into the room and saw my dad in a state where machines are plugged to him and he look quite weak. "Dad!" i called to him , feeling confused and sad. 

"Jassmin, i want you to do this for me. And please dont say No. I want you to get married to Amin. Please do this for me !" he was begging me and i got even more confuse . 

Seeing my father in such a state, i had no choice but to say YES.
