Amin's POV
So Jassmin's holidays is here and as planned we were leaving for turkey today. When we went to Jassmin's house everyone hugged her and said their goodbye personally. They even came to me and said their goodbyes. We were going away for ten days. Aisha seem to miss Jassmin more than me. I felt a tinge of jealousy towards Jassmin. Everyone loved her including me.
"Okay since you are not listening, I will keep my mouth shut." Jassmin said as we sat on the plane on our way to Istanbul.
"Sorry what is it that you were saying?"
"Never mind the moment's gone."
I apologised, as I went through all the films in the little TV in front of me.
"I don't mean to put a dampener on things, but you seem unhappy. What's wrong ?" Jassmin asked.
"Nothing." I replied glumly. I leaned over Jassmin to get a view of the earth that is beneath us, hoping she would drop her topic.
"Just tell me ! " she said narrowing her eyes at me.
"Well, my Wife is more concerned about her studies than me." I said pointing to the book in her hand.
"Hello, this is for entertainment plus education." I took the book out of her hands and shut it, making sure to fold the page that she was on first.
"This is our time. You can study when we get back. I will help you the best I can, just forget it for a little while."
"Okay!" she said pouting.
"Cheer up." I said poking her cheeks, something which i had started to do very often.
"You are the one who is sad. You Cheer up !" She said pulling my hair.
"OW! It hurts!" I screamed while she laughed at it.
I grabbed he hand and pretended to bite it when the air hostess looked at us as if asking if everything was okay. We both nodded at her and she left.
There was an awkward silence. I like how Jassmin has been with me since we were married. I think she is accepting the marriage more now. Not knowing what to say, I started to poke her cheeks again.
"Oh gosh!! Will you stop doing this?"
"But you are so cute!!" i said while she blushed. I began to talk about Istanbul and that brightened Jassmin's mood.
I, normally don't like plane journeys, i found them boring. But it was so much fun with Jassmin. We didn't even bother to watch anything on the little TV that was in front of us. We were enough for each other.
When we finally got to our hotel room, i collapsed on the bed feeling very tired.
"When can we go to Aya Sofya?" That was one of the top things on her list.
"Surely, you are not thinking about going today?"
"But it's noon only and we have the whole day!!" she complained.
"Let's do something! When can we go to the Suleymaniye mosque?" That was the other top thing on her list.
"We can go tomorrow. Let's settle down first!!"
"I want to go now !" she was stubborn.
"Did you know that the mosque was built by the order of the Ottoman ruler Sultan Suleymaniye? Ever since i know that we will be coming to Turkey i have been doing research about it. " She began talking about all the knowledge she had about the mosque. I listened trying to look as interested as possible.
"WOW! My holiday is going to be educational." She said once she was finished talking.
"Still thinking about university?! At least you are not worried about the exams anymore."
"Please get up! Let's go somewhere. Let's go out to eat!"
"Aren't you tired?"
"NO! I am not. Now if don't go out with me i would never talk to you the rest of the day!!" She said firmly.
"Okay fine. Let's go. I am going to change my clothes." I said giving in.
We stopped by a small cafe to have our lunch. As Jassmin sipped her tea, she spilled a little on her cardigan. She muttered something which I couldn't hear. She was avoiding eye contact with me.
After drinking the teas and having our lunch, We found a nearby lake and walked next to it, holding hands.
"I need to tell you something Jassmin and i want you to believe me okay?" I began, preparing myself to say all that i have in my mind without offending her, as she was quite sensitive.
"Okay." She said suspiciously.
"Jassmin, i need you to know this. I have said this many times. I love you for who you are. You don't need to feel uncomfortable around me at all."
"Thanks for saying so. I understand." she said nodding but she didn't say what i was expecting.
We walked and talked, as well as pausing during the prayer times to pray at local mosques. Jassmin feel more relaxed. We watch the sunset and went to a nearby restaurant to have dinner. By the time we got back to the hotel, we were both exhausted.
I thought sleep would take over me but i couldn't help but think about how incredible our day was with Jassmin. I turned my body toward Jassmin at look at her sleeping face. She had drool coming out from her mouth and i smiled as i got some tissue to wipe it. Jassmin was perfect to me, she is special and she is mine. I fell asleep staring at her, feeling completely at peace.
The alarm rang for Fajr prayer. I woke up stretching my limbs. Jassmin was still asleep. I went and get ready for the prayer first and then woke up Jassmin before going to the mosque. I went over and took her blanket. Just then, my ankle hurts. I lost my balance and fell back on the bed.
"Amin!" Jassmin grabbed my arm. My heart beats faster.
"I can't even stand, let me walk alone" i said looking up at an alarmed Jassmin.
Aisha's POV
i was waiting at the cafe that i told Yusuf for nearly ten minutes. I messaged him but there was no reply form him. Is he coming or not? Just then i saw him entering the cafe. He looked handsome in his formal suit.
"Assalamakalium Aisha, Sorry i had a meeting just now so couldn't reply to your message." He said.
"Waalaikum salam. It's okay." i said while he put his briefcase down.
"I see... you have ordered your drinks. I will go and get mine! he said, and went towards the counter.
After buying his drinks he came and sat down. There was an awkward silence among us.
"What was the matter?" i asked him.
"Aisha... i need a favor from you. I want to meet Jassmin and Amin together. I know they are married. I won't interfere in their marriage life. I just need to talk to them on why i stop the wedding and clear the misunderstandings between us. I want Amin to be my buddy again. " He said without pausing in between.
Should I trust him? I don't know but his words were sincere.
"Well, Amin my brother and jassmin is in turkey. I will call you once they are back. I am not sure how they will react but whatever is it try to bear with it." With that i said and as i was about to leave.
"Aisha you are looking beautiful and thanks for your help! In Sha Allah see you soon!" he said.
I just smiled and left the place.
