Don't get Hermione wrong, her and Victor had, had their fair share of snogging. But where Victors kisses were sweet, gentle, and otherwise unsatisfactory; Draco's kisses were deep, passionate, wild, in other words, very satisfactory. Where Krums kisses made her feel gentle, and feminine; Dracos made her feel strong, and powerful, alive.
Hermione got ready for breakfast with a tingle in her stomach. The thought of seeing Draco again thrilled her, and made butterflies dance through her chest. She felt happy, so incredibly happy. Nothing like this had happened to her in a long time. Hermione had never really had many boys fancy her, and the thought of Draco Malfoy.... Her? It seemed impossible, but she felt so extraordinarily good. She felt light, as if someone had filled her up with helium, and she was going to bloat, and fly away, just like Harry's Aunt Marge three years ago.
When she finished getting ready, she headed down to breakfast with a smug smirk planted upon her face. She felt as if she knew something that everyone didn't. Of course, she did, but still she couldn't help the confident spring in her step. She entered the great hall with her head down and made a B-line to her new seat at the end of the Gryffindor table.
It was then that she finally raised her head, and found those cool, silvery eyes watching her. Draco smirked at her, causing her to blush; she smirked back.
Hermione helped herself to a serving of porridge, opened her book, and continued to eat, but Hermione had no intentions of actually reading. Her and Draco proceeded to exchange playful glances with each other from across the room. Hermione knew that if she had seen any couple doing this before, I would have disgusted her. But, everything changes when your the one having faces made at you.
Hermione heard a loud squeal coming from the other side of the table, it almost caused her to fall out of her seat. She glanced over only to see Ron with his face nuzzled in the neck of Lavender Brown. She turned away rolling her eyes, at the interruption. Seriously, cant people control themselves? They were in a public room, full of people. Didn't they have the minds to figure out that they should be doing that somewhere else.
She flashed her eyes up to where Draco sat, but saw that he was gone. He must have gone to class early. The fact that she hadn't gotten to see him leave made her twice as ticked off at Lavender.
With a sigh, she started to read her book, but for real this time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Draco had decided to leave breakfast early to spend a few more minutes in the room of requirement before class; after all, he needed all of the time that he could get. He tried a couple more theories, but gave up when all failed. Disappointed, her headed to class.
Draco jogged down the hall and swung left into Mcgonigals classroom. The classroom was empty, he sighed in relief, he wouldn't be late. A few moments later a queue of people flooded through the door. The classroom slowly began to fill.
A shiver ran down his spine. He didn't need to turn around to know that Hermione had entered the room. He took his seat, and braced himself for a dull hour of transfiguration.
McGonigal had assigned them to turn their partners eyes a different colour. Hermione had gotten it right on the first try, of course. It had taken Draco a while, but he had finally turned Blaises eyes a bright shade of purple.
Draco was making his was to the common room for his free period when he full-on collided with some cluts in the hallway. The impact caused them both to fall backwards.
He sat up and saw a familiar pair of rounded glasses on the floor. Potter.
"Watch where you are going Potter!"
"Shove off Malfoy." Said Ron, who was helping Harry to his feet.
Draco walked right up to Ron, And said in the most sincere voice he could muster: "Weasley...Are you always so stupid, or is today a special occasion."
Ron turned a very deep shade of red as he tried to think of a clever comeback.
"Don't think too hard Weasley, you could sprain your brain!" Draco mocked.
Just them Hermione walked up. She froze when she say the face off. Dracos stomach dropped.
There was a sudden whirl of movement, and Ron had had his wand out. Out of instinct Dracos hand moved to his own. Just then, Harry casted a wall between the two. With a huff Ron put his wand back into his pocket, and stocked off. Harry removed his charm and followed after his best friend.
Draco was the next to leave. he didn't want to stay any longer than he had to. He stormed down a long corridor and burst into the nearest classroom.
He was so angry that he saw red. He had picked a fight with Weasley and Potter, and Hermione had seen it. He was so stupid. If she hadn't had any doubts about their relationship before, she would be damn sure having them now. With all of his force, he shoved a desk across the classroom.
He swung around to take out his anger on yet another innocent desk, when he saw Hermione standing by the door. Draco hadn't heard her come in. He wondered if she had seen him assault the table. From the look on her face, he was guessing that she had.
They stared at each other. Then she spoke:
"That was quite a scene you two made back there." Her arms were folded across her chest. Draco understood her mocking.
He scoffed and walked towards her. He grabbed both of her hands, and leaned down to kiss, but she turned her head away.
"Draco... this isn't right... This cant be real..." She said.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I mean, that we have to be realistic... Practical." She responded.
"Hermione was you were little, did you ever imagine, in a million years, that this life would be your reality. Did you ever think that you were going to be a witch?" He said. "Is anything about this life practical?"
"No." She admitted.
"Then why does this have to be..."
Draco felt her slowly giving in, so to seal the deal, he leaned in a kissed her so softly, that their lips were barely touching. She pulled away, but Draco saw the smirk on her face. There was no thinking otherwise his pleading had worked.
She backed away, and before she could leave Draco called "See you tonight!" And with that, she was gone.
--------------------------------------------------------
Hermione was sure what to think of her new relationship with Draco. Don't get her wrong, she loved the attention that she so rarely got, and despite Harry's Warnings of Draco being a death eater (Which she didn't believe), she trusted him.
