BEGINNING OF PART 2: THE HOURS WAITED
August 1st, Thursday, 1996
Checking the daily prophet had became Draco's new obsession. He had secretly bought a subscription. He didn't wasn't his Father to question his new interest in the current affairs of the wizarding world, currently- but not for long- not being lead by Lord Voldemort.
Draco viciously scanned every inch of that dammed newspaper, devouring its content, so he might be able to as much as pick up on some news of Hermione and her friends.
The Death eater practically owner the newspaper, so the comments toward Harry Potters travels were quite biased, but hey, they gave the current events of Harry Potter in full detail, leaving out details about their failures. But Voldemort's errors weren't what Draco was concerned about. He was mostly looking for the screw ups of the order, particularly one that might result in injury, or death. He was relieved every time he found out that no harm had come to his Gryffindor.
Today, they were taking what they didn't already control the ministry, and Draco felt sick. He wasn't going of course. His father was making him stay home.
"No need for children." Lucius had said. Draco hadn't minded though. He wanted nothing to do with furthering the practise of killing muggleborns. He'd had a recent change of heart towards the topic. For the thousandth time that summer, Draco considered leaving Lord Voldemort, and going into hiding until the war was over. But he couldn't. He would not put his family in danger. He cursed the Death eater who had interrupted Dumbledore's offer to him for refugee on the other side.
He returned to his Newspaper. Finally his hungry eyes found what they were looking for.
Potter escapes the ministry's grasp once again!
Undesirable no. 1, Harry Potter, and his band of rebels, managed to escape the law once again. If anyone knows of someone who has contact with 'The Order of the Pheonix' or has any kind of association with them, they are to be reported to the ministry immediately.
The battle of Little Winging has claimed the life of the former auror, and traitor to the ministry:
Alastor Moody.
The current whereabouts of Potter and his band are uncertain, thought the ministry has a lead as to where.
Draco snorted when he finished the article. Of course they would go into very little detail of their loss. And they hid the article halfway through the newspaper, instead of having it on the front page. It was another defeat to Voldemort. It showed that the famous Dark Lord had weak spots. And with them, trying to recruit new allies, weakness was not an option, and not something that they could let show. Draco was surprised that the story had even made the paper.
Along with the prophet, the deatheaters pretty much had total control over the ministry. But as said earlier, they were taking the rest tonight.
"Draco?" came a knock on the door. "The meeting is starting soon." his mother said softly. He opened the door, and went down stairs to attend a meeting that he really didn't want to be at.
They all sat there, awkwardly waiting for the last few men to arrive. Draco stole a glance up at the women hovering above the long table. A hot brand of guilt stung his chest. He could hardly take the sight of it.
Draco snapped back to attention when he heard footsteps approaching the room in which they all sat in silence. The doors opened, and in walked Severus Snape. He took his spot at the long table filled with robed wizards. Draco sat in between his parents.
