as the holly was hung on doorways, the nights grew colder. Jonathan's life was increasingly hopeless. he had not eaten in days, but had not noticed yet. his cheeks were thinner than just a few weeks ago. if he was a Codley, surely no one would recognize him now. the streets grew more and more white with snow, and bells began to ring. what a season it was. Jonathan had not seen the girl again, and it was difficult to say if he'd thought about her.
he was finding it increasingly harder to steal, as the shopkeepers had begun to notice the missing items. Tommy would have to find another source of cigarettes.
