the girl saw him on the bench. his dark eyes scanning the crowd of shoppers, quizzically looking beyond to the shops. a cigarette dangled carelessly between his teeth. his eyes glanced at hers, catching and striking a fire. to onlookers they were an odd pair. a beautiful downtown boy and a promising uptown girl. her boots made no noise as she approached Jonathan. "hello." her voice was a clear chime above the roar of wind and automobiles. "Christmas shopping done then?" Jonathan raised in eyebrow, blowing smoke out his nostrils. "lovely surprise seeing you here, Ms. Audrey."
a light smile graced ruby lips. Jonathan's dark eyes never wandered from the girls light eyes,as if they were magnetically drawn to the girls gaze. "walk with me?" the girl offered. she offered him a coin and he glanced uninterested down. "hot cocoa?" his laugh made the girls shoulders relax. Jonathan's laugh was rare and a beautiful thing. passers by noticed, and smiled at him, for once ignoring the state of his cloths and hair. "Ms. Audrey, what would a lovely thing like yourself what to do with a boy like me. I'm trouble, I go where I want whenever I want." his eyes challenged hers, and she backed away slightly, no emotion showing in her face. "then we shall get along well then, Mr. Jonathan."
what an odd pear they were.
