he never thought walking along these streets would bring him somewhere. the shadows underneath his eyes rivaled the ones cast by buildings. the sky was dusting flakes of white snow, even as the sun shine though thick clouds. now the boys eyes watched as a girl crossed the street. her eyes had met his from a while back. he appeared neutral as ever, not even blinking an eye as she came to stand in front of him. the rich uptown girl wearing red, and the dark haired down town boy. what a pair they seemed to on lookers. one would never guess they knew each other. and they didn't. "beg my pardon sir, but my name is Audrey. I was hoping you would walk with me a a while."
Jonathan cocked an eyebrow at the girl in red, a coy expression appearing on his face. the world seemed to wait as his full lips parted and spoke deeply. "pleasure Ms. Audrey. Jonathan at your service." he changed his path, walking beside her in in long, graceful strides. "my mother was simply wondering if you bear any kinship to the Codley family, as you look so much like their latest son."
Jonathan's interest was peaked by this, as he turned his head ever so slightly towards her. "and if I do, what would happen to me?" the girl frowned at him. "what do you suppose?" her voice was a clear challenge. she didn't appear to believe he was in relation to the Codely household.
"that's a question for a warmer day, Ms Audrey."
he ducked into an alley as they passed, taking refuge in the shadows. one could guess the small encounter with the bold girl had shaken him, even if he did not show it by facial expression.
