THALIA
It's been a hell of a days. When will I ever experience a normal day, where teenage kids like me just hang out with their friends, do stuff whatever the hell they want without being chased by monsters, and just be a rockstar? --Oh, wait. I'm not a normal kid. The word "normal" doesn't exist in my world. Yes, i just said "monsters" a while ago, you read that right. So you're probably thinking who am I? Or worst -WHAT am I?
My name is Thalia, and I'm telling you right now that I'm not good with introductions. I'm 12 --yeah, too young to be on my own. But you see, right now I don't feel alone because I found a new family.
In our world, they call us "demigods" --half mortal, half God. Demigods were like monster-magnets, they found us as a good appetite. You think I'm crazy? Damn, I hope so... but this is all true. Maybe now you're thinking how awesome to be a child of a God or something. Well, screw you! I tell you, it just sounded good to be called a demigod, but the consequences of being one is pretty hard to believe.
My mom is the mortal one, --and please let's not talk about her for she was the reason why I left home. So, that leaves to my dad being my godly parent. Hmm, now that caught your attention. My dad? Oh, it's Zeus. He's just the Sky God, the God of Lightning, and the King of all Gods. Right. Great. Just great.
So as I was saying earlier, I found a new family, and they're also like me. Thank the Gods we found each other. I'm with two other demigods. Luke Castellan, two years older than me, Son of Hermes --God of Thieves, God of Travelers, and messenger of the Gods. I ran into him when I was following the deer --the sacred animal of Zeus named Amaltheia, it led me to him. Then we fought monsters together until one day the deer shows up again to me.
We followed Amaltheia thinking that it was a sign from Zeus, that he was leading me to something. It turns out I am right. We ended up in this old house where we fought some monsters again and met a God, well, a minor God, just a minor God who sacrificed his life just for us --two homeless demigods, to escape.
Hal was a descendant of Apollo, and he was cursed for speaking some prophecies that took away his own voice. He read my future and Luke's which doesn't sound good at all.
I also found a golden bracelet, which I believe Zeus wanted me to find. It turns out it's not just a bracelet. It's a shield. A shield with medusa's head in front of it, which radiates some kind of strong power. Even Luke sensed the power, and I could see that he might have been scared a little.
The other demigod with us is Annabeth Chase. She's just seven years old. With that very young age, she ran away and was alone for a few days. She looked terrible. I felt sorry for her because she experienced these things at this young age. Luke and I found her on our way back to our camps after we've been in Hal's house. We knew then that she was a demigod like us when she won't stop screaming "MONSTERS!!!" when we found her. And so, Luke and I decided to keep her with us and told her that we're her new family now.
We decided to camp in the woods, just stay for the night then we'll go ahead to the James River tomorrow and restock our supplies. I was the first one to take a rest, with Annabeth on my side.

After a few hours of sleep, I woke up with tears in my eyes. I dreamt about him again. I couldn't move. Luke noticed me, and came towards us. I wiped my tears quickly then looked at Annabeth, still sleeping on my side, and she looked --at peace. I reminded myself that I have a new family here. A family that I could take care of and never to commit the mistakes I made before.
Luke knelt down next to me and he asked, "Hey, you okay?"
"Yeah," I said. Although I was lying. I was lying about myself.
