THALIA
We decided to trust Grover, the satyr --which Luke and I honestly don't know what kind of monster he is. But since Annabeth didn't freak out, and she knew about them, I think this guy is harmless. I'm just really curious on how he became a protector with those crutches. He must be a great fighter then.
We went back traveling through the woods. Grover said it was safer to travel there with the nature on our favor. You see, Grover is such an environmentalist. He also said that if we're fighting in public --in front of the mortals, the mist shows them the worst possible that would make us look bad. Since we are heading to this camp he'd told us, all we do is listen to him.
After four hours of traveling on foot, we decided to rest. We went to our nearest camp that Luke and I made weeks ago. I brought out some ambrosia and hand it over to everyone. I ate just enough to replenish my energy and for my leg. Luke and Annabeth ate it right away. But Grover gave it back to me and he asked, "Do you have any tin cans there?"
Luke fished out something in his backpack before I could reply, and he tossed an empty Coke in can to Grover.
"Yes!" Grover shouted as he catched it. And to our surprised, he bit the can with his bare teeth, and chewed it like it's a normal food. I looked at him with a shock on my face.
"Whoa. Do you really have to do that?" Luke asked.
"That's what they eat." Annabeth answered.
Grover nodded while he continued grinding on his can, "Yeah, she's right. It gives us energy. Wait, how much do you know about satyrs?" he asked Annabeth. Now I wanted to know that too so we all looked at Annabeth and waited for her answer.
"Well, uhm, according to the book I read..." she started. "Satyrs are half-man, half-goat. They already exist during the greek and roman times. Satyrs are the greek ones, and they have lots of duties compared to a faun --roman form of satyrs. Satyrs are said to be a protector, and they also join the battlefield. They love to eat tin cans, and they learn how to play the reed pipes which serves as a weapon sometimes depending on the music played." she finished and smiled.
Luke asked, "Why does all of that written in a book? I'm just curious... even the Gods... monsters..."
"Because they don't want mortals to be a part of our world anymore so they just made it like a myth for them to study. But, these myths are true and still existing until now. They made the mist to conceal our world to the mortal world." Grover explained.
"And why they would do that?" Luke asked.
"Because us mixing with the mortals? It's no good. They don't understand our world. They don't accept us, and the Gods didn't like it." Grover answered.
I sighed, "This world is so messed up." I said.
"Er--, what world?" Grover asked.
"Forget it. Uhm... Annabeth said you're a half goat? H-How--"
"--Oh!" Grover interrupted. "Uhm... Like this..." he added, then disturbingly, he started to unbuckle his belt.
Luke went in front of me and Annabeth right away, "W-Whoa. What are you doing?!" he asked.
Grover ignored him, he unzipped his pants and started to take it off. "Why are you taking your pants off?!" Luke shouted.
I immediately covered Annabeth's eyes, but she removed it and said, "Just watch him."
Both Luke and I stared at her shockingly, then back at Grover whose pants were now completely taken off. We were more surprised at him with those goat hooves revealed. Then he removed his rasta cap which revealed his short goat horns.
