As soon as I got home, I inhaled the smell of Krissys precious baking. I quickly gathered myself, not wanting her to notice the panicked state that I was still stuck in due to the previous happenings.

Once my breathing was at a steady rate and I had pushed the awkward moment to the back of my mind, I entered the kitchen where, unsurprisingly, Krissy had baked chocolate chip cookies; my favourite.

"Sweetie! I made Chocolate chip just for yo- What's wrong?" She furrowed her eyebrows and slightly pulled her bottom lip in-between her teeth. I could feel her analysing my not-so-well emotions on my face, why could she read me so well? It was as if I was a book.

"W-what do you mean? Nothings wrong,  I'm perfectly okay." I threw my hands behind my back, connecting them together as I bobbed up and down from my tip-toes to my heel. Krissy had placed her hands on her hips and started staring me down. Something she done often when she wanted to get something out of me -it always worked-. "Fine, basicallyHayesTriedToKissMeButIPushedHimAwayBeforeRunningAwayAndILeftHimAloneAndINowDoNotKnowWhatToDo." I said all too quickly, mentally praying that she couldn't understand me. "Now, if that is all I shall be going in to my room to reminisce on my mistake." I quickly grabbed a cookie before trying to walk under the threshold of the kitchen, only to be stopped abruptly by Krissys mellow tone.

"Wait!" She sternly told me and I quickly came to a holt. "What's wrong with that? You didn't want to kiss him, so what? If he makes a big deal about it then he is nothing but a big-" She looks around the room as if there is anyone else here to hear what she is about to say before whispering (rather loudly if I may add) "-dick, and he does not deserve your time. Don't let him pressure you, okay?"

Letting out a soft giggle, pushing a strand of hair that had fallen in front of my now bright red face behind me ear I replied with a small "I won't, thank you." Before rushing upstairs into my room, cookie still in hand.

I fell with a huff onto my bed, although that didn't work out very well as instead, I landed on the wooden floor with not just a huff, but a rather loud 'thud'.  "Are you okay?" A very worried sounding Krissy called up to me, I responded with a brief 'yes' before shoving the cookie into my mouth. Giving up on life completely.

After a while of just sitting in the same potion on the floor for over an hour, doing nothing but contemplating what to do next, I heard quiet muffled voices coming from downstairs. I couldn't work out what they were saying -or who they were in this case- so I slowly tiptoed out of my room and down the stairs.

I could briefly see people talking in the front room, Krissy and someone else who I could not yet figure out. A few more steps and I'd be able to see. I tip toed over, my what I would like to call 'spy-like' cover completely blown thanks to a creak from the floorboard. Great.

Trying to run away but failing due to Krissy beckoning me back into the room once again, I stopped in my tracks. Slowly walking into the room to reveal the one, the only, Hayes.

I smiled sheepishly up at them. Krissy wore a smirk and Hayes stayed neutral completely avoiding eye contact with me. "Well, you two have fun!" She patted me on the shoulder as she walked out of the room. Leaving me baffled.

"Oh sh.it." I whispered once I realised what she was doing, "She's locking us in isn't she?" I ran towards the door but was too late. It was already locked.

"Erm, Dino." Hayes said. I whipped my head around and saw his muscular hand holding his bottom lip between to fingers - a habit of his when he's nervous-. "I'm s-sorry about before. I don't know what came over me or why I even for a second thought it would be a good idea to kiss you -no offence!- Like I would love to kiss you but I know you wouldn't want to kiss me, I'm rambling again aren't I?" I let out a soft chuckle, joining him on the sofa and facing those blue eyes that I have grown to adore.

"Yup. Hayes, I should be apologising. Like I'm honestly so sorry, I just don't want to ruin out friendship." I smiled, earning one from Hayes that only partially met his eyes.

"Yeah, you're right."

From the door a quite "Hug" could be heard coming from Krissy, followed by a "Oh never mind, I can't see anyways. I'm not superman, although I do wish I was. Sorry!Sorry, I'm gone." Hayes and I both burst into laughter at my crazy adoptive mother.

"Well, do what the lady said and hug me." I giggled, opening my arms for Hayes to fall into. Which is what he did, he embraced me, his arms fitting around me like a glove.
