3. Topaz Eyes

English, science, double pe and art was Dino's time table for the day, but, Dino being Dino, she wasn't planning on following it. As usual, she was planning on cutting 3rd and 4th period, which was pe.

Her ears were flooded with the sound of the school bell, informing the students to get to 1st period. Even though Dino loved English, she was always late and never paid much attention.

Before she went to class she strolled to her locker, making sure to waste as much precious time as possible.
Once she reached her locker she pulled out some random books in hope that her English one would be within the pile. She couldn't find the book so instead she just strolled to class.

"Ah, nice for you to finally join us Dino." Her English teacher breathed out sarcastically.

"Sorry sir, you should be used to me being late by now" she said, soon filling the silent classroom with the sound of her giggle.

"And you should be used to me giving you detention!" The teacher cheered. He handed Dino her detention slip before pointing her towards a chair at the back. All the teachers end up placing Dino at the back sooner or later, it's the only way she'll be quiet during class.

She trotted to her seat, not taking notice of the dirty looks she was earning from her peers. She got to her seat and sat down, people were still staring but she didn't take notice. To be honest, Dino was probably the nicest person in that class. She never reacted to anyone, she was just 'the weird kid' but she was completely normal. Everyone said she dressed weird, but the next day the popular kids would wear the exact same thing as her and get honoured for it. None of it is fair, she doesn't deserve to be an outcast. This didn't stop her from being herself, and that's what a few people admired about Dino, not that they would tell anyone this. They admired how no matter what, she would be herself and no one could change that.

"Hey" the person next to her whispered whilst poking her with a pencil. She turned to him and shot him a glare, causing him to kind of choke on his spit and start to sweat.

"Yes?" She asked, already frustrated and completely ready for him to spit his rude comments at her.

"Sir just said we have to work together" he nervously giggled. His topaz coloured eyes were sparkling under the sunlight that was shining through the window, they were mesmerising.

"Oh, sorry for being rude before. It's just that normally when people make any communication with me it's so they can try to hurt my feelings" She sighed, letting out a small breath when she was finished. His reaction was priceless, he seemed so shocked. She didn't recognise him, but She never took notice of anyone so She doesn't really recognise anyone here.

"Why would anyone try to hurt you? You're amazing" he said smiling, she wanted to believe that this wasn't a joke, but it most probably was.

"Thanks" She blushed, securing her eyes on her black doc Martins.

"What's your name?" He asked intrigued, he actually seemed interested in her, which was a very rare circumstance.

"Dino, you?" She shyly asked, when people found out her name they instantly thought she was weird and gave up trying. It was stupid really.

"Hayes, your names cool" he giggled, causing her cheeks to heat up with joy.

"I'm named after a freaking extinct animal, it's not cool" she breathed out in all seriousness. Her lips were in a straight line, but the plumpness of them caused it to look as if she was pouting.

"Your mom named you after a dinosaur?"

"Sadly yes"
