(A few weeks later...)

KLAUS POV :

After a millennium of willed solitude, when I look back at everything I've crushed and conquered through my way, all I can witness is pain and vengeance. Lives that I've taken, hearts that I've broken, I can never revive them no matter how deep my amends extend to.

But now.

What lies before my eyes, is a beautiful shadow of my past and eternal hope for the future. Deep down, I still am a beast. In the eyes of people and the world, I'm a tyrant. But when I look into her eyes, I see a man. A man who's been yearning for love and affection. A man who owns her heart and soul. She makes me better in every possible way and I'm never letting this joy slip out of our hands again.

Every minute used to feel like a century without her by my side but now that she's right here, in my arms, even eternity feels shorter than one single blink of her beautiful eyes.

"Good morning, angel." Her head shot up right away, providing a clearer view of her gorgeous sapphire orbs.

"How did you know? I didn't even move..." She sulked and fell back on my chest.

I couldn't help but chuckle at her never fading childishness that I've been experiencing ever since we met. In fact, her innocence is what drove me crazier about her. It makes me want to protect her. Cupping her face gently, I bent down and placed a small kiss on her eyelids.

"Your eyelids, love." She rolled her eyes in confusion.

"Although your body stayed still, your eyes never did, love. They kept blinking and these.." I touched her long eyelashes. "They kept fluttering against my skin. Like the soft wings of a butterfly."

Her rosy lips curled into a delightful smile as she rose from the sheets and draped her arms lazily around my neck.

"How poetic, Mr Mikaelson? I have to admit that I'm impressed. I see what else you're good at, except romance and art." I chuckled gladly at her flirty compliment and pulled her onto my lap on a spur of the moment as she let out a burst of happy laughter.

"I love you, Nik. More than anything." She pressed a tender peck on my lips before pulling away but I yearned for more of the sensuous touch of her lips. They were so addictive.

Not wanting to end the moment at all, I held onto her waist, locking her in my grip. "I love you too, Giselle. More than everything." Tugging her body more ardently to mine, my hungry lips captured her lush ones in a desperate kiss. Every second of that intimacy, reminding the bliss that's lying ahead of us forever.

GISELLE'S POV:

I marched to the cabinet and grabbed the jar of salt angrily. Why didn't it work? An unpleasant sigh escaped my mouth as I turned around. "Why so stressed over a jar of salt, love?" Nik walked inside the kitchen with his usual grin.

"That's because it's salty." I took a pinch of the tiny white crystals and sprinkled it in the batter as he appeared beside me at his inhuman pace and crashed his mouth over mine. I felt his lips curve into a charming smile against mine. His very own charming, crooked smile.

He dipped his index finger in the salt jar and placed it in his mouth. Cocking his head to the side, he smirked again. There was a glint of mischief sparkling in his eyes.

"What, Niklaus?" His gaze locked with mine.

"It's just that... Even salt tastes sweet after touching your lips, love." He whispered in his alluring voice and took a step closer to me.
