When I got home I was bashed with lectures and how skipping school is wrong and what would even cause me to do this. I rolled my eyes as they jumped to conclusions not even listening to my part of the story. This just led them to be angrier, damn I never saw my grandma that angry and I was sent to my room and grounded for two weeks and only allowed to go to school.

I felt like a five year old being punished. My phone ringed (they probably forgot to take it) as I answered realizing it was Nicole.

"Damn I heard about the whole incident with my mom, Sorry about that you already know how she is" Nicole said with an apologetic tone

"Don't worry about it" I huffed, "I was probably gonna end up grounded when the school called to see  why I didn't show up" I responded

"Yeah well, theres a party tonight that Nick invited me to, wanna come?" Nicole said trying to bring the vibe back to the conversation.

"I'm grounded remember, and I don't want to be your little 'tag along'"  I responded in an annoyed tone

"Rules are made to be broken" I could hear the eye roll through her tone, "Besides you won't be alone"

That last part woke me up a bit, "Is Devon coming?" I asked curiosly.

"Why does that matter?" I could hear the smirk in her voice

A knock interrupted as I was about to answer.

"Look Nicole I don't have time for your little mind games, I'll talk to you later" I said in a rush throwing the phone into an empty drawer.

"Come In!" I yelled sort of annoyed. The door opened slowly as I saw a peak of long gray hair. "Hey" my grandmother said in a hushed voice. I turned away from her mumbling a small "Hi." I knew she was frowning now, besides I could see the frown on her face.

"You know, we only did this for the best" She said looking straight at me. Even though I refused to look at her she continued to talk, "I don't like seeing you like this but whats done has to be done, you were wrong and must face consequences." I turned my head to her in shock, "I'm 17 practically an adult yet you lock me in a box like I'm 5!" I was now yelling at her. "In my house you live under my rules, I hope you learn that." She said placing a hand on me before she left the room. I huffed to myself in frustration. They just don't understand.

I just sat on my windowsill looking at the sight infront of me. Sometimes I wish I can be free without a burden and not worry about school, how I'm getting home, my social life, the future. That will only happen in a fantasy.

Later that day I just lay on my bed starring at the celing, I'm bored out of my mind. I heard something hard hitting my window over and over again. I got up annoyed "Why me!" I yelled to the sky with my hands up. When I opened my window I saw Devon throwing rocks at it. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked him confused but still in shock. He just grinned "I came to break you out." I sighed, "I can't go I'm grounded." He shrugged his shoulders, "Rules are meant to be broken." This is the second time I heard this today. Maybe its a sign, "Give me 5 minutes." I said before rushing from the window to get dressed.
