Echo Came To Earth

The Plan (Which Alyss is Unaware of Curtesy of Alex)

Alex's pov

"Okay, she's zoned out, it's safe." I said waving my hand if front of Aly's face with no reaction.

"You know she's going to find out, right?" Tuck said, "Even if we all keep our mouth shut, she will find out and then we are doomed to the end of time!"  And he was right. We were doomed, but I couldn't have Aly getting hurt out there because I didn't try to stop her, and if she never knew, there would never be a problem. Oh! Right, nobody told you guys yet, there are these dumb construction guys demolishing our neighborhood. It is just awful! We can't do anything because we are just kids. Nobody takes us seriously until we hit 18. And whats worse, my phone barfed, like a map thingy, and Munch figured it out. Two days until the desert will be conquered by three, or four, if we are unlucky,  thirteen year old kids. Well Friday night we are following the map to wherever it leads so we can maybe, just maybe, get our neighborhood back.

"So Friday night?" Munch verified.

"What's Friday night?" Someone asked. Our heads whipped around to see Aly wearing a expression of mixed emotions. Normally I can read her pretty easily, but what is this? Confusion, intrigue, and betrayal. Oh. We are so doomed.

"Well it's Alex's last night, and we w-w-were g-going to um have a um well uh sleepover, yeah, a sleepover." Munch tried,  "Actually we are going out into the desert all alone and following this map on Alex's phone." He finished.

"COME ON!" Tuck and I screamed. He had blown it.

"WHAT?! YOUR GOING ON AN ADVENTURE WITHOUT ME?!!!??!?!?" Aly was just warming up, "Fine. But I  am coming with you, or you can just not ever speak with me again." This was new.

"Fine you can come, but we are not letting you go with us on any adventure if you get hurt on this one." Tuck said, have they gone soft?!

"just because i'm a girl? huh? is that it? i don't  know if you remember, but I HAVE BEATEN YOU ALL IN PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING, AND HAVE NEVER  BRAGGED ONCE! I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" That was new too, but both Tuck and Munch looked at me for the final word. Munch had wanted her to come all along, she was the smartest, fastest and strongest of the four of us, but Tuck and I were both more concerned with her safety.

"Why do you care so much? She's my sister." Tuck asked.

"She's my best friend." I had said, but I had hesitated, and Tuck noticed.

"Just your best friend?" He asked, "It's a marvel she doesn't know, you know that right?"

"So maybe I have a huge crush on her, but she doesn't feel the same way so whatever. I will be destined for just friendship, that's okay." I said, rather sadly.

"Are you sure she doesn't feel the same. She told me she thinks she likes you." Tuck said.

"That's all the more reason I don't want her to go! Wait, what?" I had said, that doesn't make sense. She couldn't like me, that would be just, well awesome!

"Yeah." Could he read my mind or something?!

"Just, yeah." I sighed, at least it was behind me now.

"Fine you can come." I said.

"YES!! You are the best!" And then Aly jumped into my arms. Well at least she's happy.
