Sorry it took me three days to write something so short. It was very hard to get into the right mindset for the update. ###### indicates the mature part. In case you do not know art works, this statue is best known as Venus de Milo. It is a Greek depiction of Aphrodite sculpted about 130-100BC.
Chapter 52 True Blue In Dark Times
Everyone, except North and Luke, came back to the house before dinner to get a round of hugs and kisses. North and Luke were working in the kitchen with Ms. Nancy. "It sucks rocks that the honeymoon is over already." Nathan complained.
"If we were in the world as it was, we could have gone away for a month to a villa in Italy or to the Alhambra in Spain or..." Victor had a low smolder in his eyes.
Silas interrupted, "Or to the Greek Islands. Aggele could be lounging on a beach in a teeny bikini right now." Silas was eyeing my body like he was picturing me in some scraps of material. I could feel my body heat from his intense stare.
"But we aren't living in the world as we knew it." Kota began, " These are our dark times. Maybe someday we can do those things, but right now, we have to do our part for the camp's survival as a whole." He pushed his glasses up his nose while he gave me a weary look.
"You know I don't expect any of those things, right? I have had the best honeymoon any girl could ask for." I looked at each of my men with a happy smile plastered on my face. "I have more than I could ever have asked for. I have all of you." My voice came out sounding a little choked up. I had to wipe away a tear that leaked out of the corner of my eye. I don't think they understand how much better my life is now than it was just two months ago. These might be dark times for them, without their modern conveniences, but these are bright times for me.
Gabriel slung his arms around Nathan and me, "Whether the best of time or the worst of times, we will always have each other. Now, let's go eat."
"Here here!" Silas
"Well said Gabe." Sean
"That's the truth." Nathan
Sean and I waved goodbye to everyone as we went to work and they went to eat. Dr. Roberts gave us the update that London seems to be gaining strength and control over her own body. They only had one scare during the day. Star informed us that Willow is feeling much better herself. Ryder had helped her take a few walks around the perimeter of the house. The more she gets up and moves the better off she will be.
By the time our morning shift was coming to an end, Sean and I were ecstatic that London had a perfect night. She did everything that was expected of her. She ate, she slept and she pooped. It's everything a parent could ever want in a newborn. This thought gave me the giggles.
"What's tickling your funny bone, Mrs. Dr. Green?"
"I was just happy about London. I was giving her a little praise in my head. She did what we needed her to do. She ate, she slept and she pooped! What more could we ask for?" I giggled some more. I think I'm just tired.
"That she did. But if you keep giggling like that, I'm going to have to put an end to your giggle fest."
"Why? Laughter is the best medicine!" I giggled again. Yup! I'm tired. I only laugh at nothing when I am exhausted. Sean took that as his cue to pull me in flush with his body and kiss me until my toes curled in my shoes and I forgot my own name.
A throat cleared, pulling us apart. I wiped my thumb across my lower lip and tucked my body in close to Sean. He kept his arm around my shoulders as he spoke to our intruder. "Good morning Phil. Sleep well?"
