Chapter 6 Making Friends In Dark Times
As Gabriel and I walked to dinner, we had our hands laced together again. He swung our arms between us like two little kids would walk while holding hands. It made me giggle.
"Music to my ears Trouble."
Something had been bothering the back of my brain since we sorted clothes and I figured, might as well ask Gabriel. "After seeing the need for maternity clothes and baby through kid clothes, where do you think we will be able to get those? I mean when they go out for supplies?"
"Well, I would guess that the supply run would be to cities. They will probably start on the outskirts, like suburbs first. Abandoned homes, stores, hospitals, etc. They will be looking for anything that is useful and also the list of things that specifically are needed."
I nodded, "That sounds logical."
"They won't want to go too far into a major city though. Too much danger. You know with only the strong survive and all." He was waving his arm in big circular motions. I hadn't thought of that, but those that would survive long enough in highly populated areas would possibly be of great danger. That might be why they are still going strong in the first place. They are the strong.
Just outside the dining hall, Gabriel turned to me, cupping my face in his hands, "I don't want you worrying about those that go out for a supply run. We are all trained well and know how to keep ourselves safe." Then he placed a sweet kiss on my lips. I responded immediately and moved my lips with his, my hands going to his hips. He made a noise in the back of his throat and tilted his head to the side to deepen the kiss. His tongue swiping across my lips and I opened my mouth out of instinct. I was rewarded with Gabriel's very talented tongue dancing about in my mouth.
I had to break away from this intense kiss, my knees were about to give out and I was out of air. He rested his forehead on mine, "I'm sorry Sang. I didn't mean to push you like that." His eyes were closed and the look on his face was pained.
"I'm not sorry. That was, that was..." I was at a loss for words, "mindblowing." I whispered and bit my lip out of embarrassment for how inexperienced I am.
Gabriel chuckled and lowered his lips to my ear, his body pressing into mine in an enticing way, "Mind Blowing huh?" Then he licked me from my jaw to my ear. "MINE." he husked.
"Eeeewwww." I complained then giggled. I used my shoulder to wipe his spit from my cheek and ear.
"You know you loved it." He said cockily and pulled me into the dining hall.
We joined the rest of the family, except for Victor and Luke again, and went through the same routine of women, and children now, first, then the men. I got in line with Rayne and Willow, since I felt comfortable around them after working with them all day.
I decided to do what the boys suggested last night, and make friends. I took in a deep breath, "Would either of you like to come to our house after dinner for a little, I don't know, get together or game night? Your husbands would be invited as well, of course."
Willow lit up, "Thank you Sang. Ryder and I would love to come over." I smiled happily at her.
Rayne looked a little leary, "Boston can be a bit...overwhelming at times. As long as his loud, aggressive and slightly rude comments don't bother you, we will be there. But I will leave that up to you, since you seem like a sweet girl. I wouldn't want him to offend you."
