Chapter 2: The Casting

Liz sat at the table in her dining room, Liz was facing her mother, Andy, who was eating an omelet. Liz had a bowl of cereal, but she wasn't hungry. It was almost time to go to school, and there we're no busses, so Liz had to walk.

Liz stood up from her seat, signaling her mother that she was going to get going.

"Ill see you later sweety!" Andy said, looking at Liz, then picking up a news paper.

"Do you think dad will bring home jelly beans after work?" Liz asked, her mouth watered at the thought of the delicious taste of the jelly beans. "You never know your father is unpredictable." Andy laughed as she seemed to be mesmerized by the paper now blocking her face from Liz's gaze.

Liz grabbed her bag, she was 17 years old, and it was the first day of school for this year. Liz skipped out the door and stood at the end of her drive way. This week was going to be great!
Liz began to skip down the sidewalk towards school, and she saw the Jones sitting on their porch. The old couple had been great neighbors to Liz and her parents. "Hello and good morning." Liz came to a stop and bowed her head, giggling. Liz heard the Jones laugh..Liz loved making people feel happy, it made her feel warm inside. "Have a nice day at school sweety!" Mrs. Jones called out to Liz, causing Liz to smile even more. "I will!" Liz began to skip away, waving to the Jones who watched her go.

Liz didn't slow down her pace, she just sped up, going into a fast job. Liz noticed someone across the street, he wore a black robe and a hood, his face covered by a cloth, his eyes hidden in a shadow as he leaned against a tree. Liz felt his gaze, but kept going to school, maybe she would see that strange guy there?

When Liz got to school she was greeted by her two beat friends, Jenna and Maddie.

Maddie ran up an squeezed Liz into a hug. Jenna came over and smiled. The two went into the school and began their week with smiles on their faces.

By lunch the trio was exhausted, they met by a table and all looked at the lunch line, which was packed of course. The three sat down, "ugh, it's so far." Liz reached her hand out lazily towards the lunch line, she still didn't feel that hungry.

All of a sudden the three sat up and stared at one another,.they all saw the same thing. "Here he comes!!!" Maddie whisper/screamed over to Liz, who blushed and smiled. Liz turned around to see, Josh, her crush from last year, looming over her. Liz's red hair fell in front of her face as she blushed.

"Hey Josh."Liz said nervously. "Hey Lizzy how's your day been?" Josh smiled down at her. Lizzy felt queasy in her stomach, he had just called her Lizzy, she wasn't very fond of the name, but she just smiled back up at him. "Oh your know, boring old school..." Liz felt so stupid, she didn't know how to talk to him! "Josh grinned, "well, I'll see you around I guess..." Josh made a small wave, then turned on his heel and left.

"Really, that was all you got?" Jenna said, smiling a little. "Shut it, it's not as easy as it looks!" Liz snapped but the three soon started to laugh, it was good to have friends around.

After school the three split up, Liz began to walk home, she hadn't seen that boy in school? But she saw him now, he was now on the same side as Liz, but Liz didn't care. Just as Liz was about to walk by him, he stepped in front of her and had an evil grin, the cloth that had covered his face, was gone, but she still couldn't get a good look at his face. "Umm, do you mind, I'm walking here." Liz put her hands on her hips, and glared at the stranger, he looked to be maybe a little older than her, and he was a whole lot taller.

Liz talking only made his grin widen, and he began to say a phrase. Liz tried to hear, her face screwed up in confusion. But then Liz felt light headed, "Hey there buddy, what's the big idea!" Liz talked slowly and stumbled, she sounded extremely tired, and she was. Liz tried to throw a punch buy tripped and fell. Liz felt the stranger catch her, her eyes slowly closing. The last thing she heard was his laugh, then all went black.
