Chapter 10. Her

Kayla's POV

I grabbed the hammer laying in he ground next to me and started to pound the nail into the wood. Since my room was destroyed the builders are helping me rebuild it. Thomas sent me a weak smile before handing me another nail.

" I don't see why we have to help a shuck face girl rebuild her room instead of doing our actual jobs." Gally announced, throwing his hammer to the ground. Thomas walked up to him and clenched his fists.

" why don't you just shut up or you can go clean up the grievers." Thomas growled in his face and Gally shoved him out of the way before walking away. I walled up to Thomas and rubbed his shoulder.

" just forget about him." I said and he nodded and walked back up and finishing my wall.

"Kayla! Clint needs you." Chuck yelled and I nodded and ran to the Med-Jacks. I walked in and saw newt sitting on a chair with his arm bleeding. I sighed and grabbed the large bandages and started to clean his cut.

"Kay." Newt started but I ignored him and threw away the bloody cloth. I started to walk out when he grabbed my arm.

"What!" I hissed and looked at him.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you." He said. I nodded and he brought me into a hug. It took me a few seconds to finally hugged back. I smiled when all a sudden a loud beeping noise started.

Newt let go of me and we ran out of the shack. The light above the box was red and all the boys crowded around it.

When the doors opened my eyes widened and Thomas ran up besides me. His fingers laced with mine and newt jumped down in the box.

"Another shucking girl!" Gally yelled in frustration. The girl laying on the bottom of the box had black hair and light skin. She looked so fragile, like if you touched her she would break. I glanced up at Thomas and his mouth was slightly parted and his eyes was on the girl. I slowly pulled my hand away from his and over to get a better view.

  There was a piece of paper in the girls hand and newt slowly took it. He opened it and all the color left his face.

"She's the last one ever." He read out loud. I covered my mouth and shook my head.

"Is she even alive." Minho asked. All of a sudden the girl jolted up.

"Everything's going to change" she said before falling limp.
