Chapter 9

Lia POV

Me and Cory been going good so far. I was sitting in the living room while Cory was out with his boys. I got bored after about 30 minutes so I decided to go take a shower. After a 20 minute shower, I got out and dried off then I went into my dresser, put on my bra and panties and went into my closet to pick out a black t-shirt that said 'Dope' with some black booty shorts. I picked out my timbs and after that I called Jai and she ain't answer so I called her bae Rakir and he picked up.

*Phone Convo*

Rakir: "Hello"

Me: "Hey um.. where Jai"

Rakir: "She was supposed to be at the house what bout her?"

Me: "I called her but she ain't answer.."

Rakir: "Oh shit I'll call you back let me go try to call her aight?"

Me: "Aight"

*Hangs Up*

I sat and waited anxiously for Rakir to call me back. About 5 minutes later.. he called.

*Phone Convo*

Me: "Hello!"

Rakir: "Yeah um.. come to the hospital L-Lia." He said as he stuttered.

Me: "Why what's wrong?" I asked nervously while pacing the floor.

Rakir: "Just hurry I-I-I'll explain when you come."

Me: "Aight I'm on my wa-" this nigga hung up before I could say anything.

*End of Convo*

I ran upstairs and grabbed my jacket and rushed to the hospital. When I pulled up and jumped out the car and ran inside. I seen Rakir pacing back and forth. When he seen me I looked into his eyes and seen fear.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Jai.. when I pulled up at the house I found her passed out and the floor in the bathroom." He said.

"Oh my god what happened though?!" I said choking up on tears.

"I don't know I guess it had something to do with her pregnancy." He said running his fingers through his long hair.

"Pregnancy?! She was pregnant and she didn't tell me?!" I yelled.

"Shh.. and yeah I was going to let her tell you but I guess she was scared. But she was acting strange one day when she came out the shower and when she was doing my hair." He explained.

"Well... we'll just have to see what the results are." I said.

We waited for an hour or so then the doctor came out. 'Family of Jaila McCall'. We walked over to the doctor.

"Well Jaila has had an miscarriage and it seems as if someone has overdosed her with some type of pills meant for an abortion and tried to make it seem like a suicide or so." The doctor explained.

"What?!" Me and Rakir said in unison.
"Yeah but we managed to get the pills out of her system and she's okay." The doctor said.

"Okay thanks can we go see her?" I asked crying. Rakir sat down with his head in his hands.
"Not right about now we have to do one more test to make sure so when we come back you can." The doctor said while walking off.

"Okay." I turned and sat down next to Rakir. "What's wrong?" I asked rubbing his back to make him feel better.

"I-I-I got a feeling I know who did this.." he said.
"What.. Boy no.." I said.

"I'm forreal.." he sucked his teeth and took a deep breath. "In 6th grade there was this thick girl who always had feelings for me but I would always reject her because I didn't feel the same way.. so she would always express herself by hitting on me like physically so I stayed away from her and she always gave me a look so one day I saw her at the mall and I was with Jai.. she gave me and Jai a look Jai brushed it off but I had a feeling that meant something else.." he said getting up about to walk out the hospital.
