The second quarter of school had unfortunately came for Emma and Ethan. Both of them were dreading it, but they had to go to school. That morning, Emma had gone into a state of panic.
Ethan had just gotten his driver's license, being 17, and offered to give her a ride to school since they attended the same place. School started at 7:30, and it was ten minutes away from their apartment. Because of that, they had to leave no later than 7:15. It was 7:00, and Emma had slept through her alarm.
"Emma, don't panic," Jake, her dad, whispered as she started to slightly hyperventilate. He was 51 years old, but he looked only 40. His hair wasn't thinning at all or was the lightest shade of grey. He had just returned from his overnight shift at the hospital. "I will help you out with getting your school stuff together so that you can focus on yourself. If you two are a few minutes late, so what? It's one day." Emma sighed, but she still felt like she couldn't breathe. "Here." Jake handed Emma her inhaler. Emma took deep breaths with her inhaler. She sighed.
"Thanks Dad," Emma quietly thanked. Jake smiled and hugged her. Emma hurried to eat breakfast, shower, brush her teeth, dress, do her makeup, and dry her hair. When she was finished, it was 7:15. The exact time they had to leave at. They had a miracle; they were back on track.
"Man, I wish you got ready this fast every day," Ethan sighed. Emma giggled. Jake handed Emma her backpack as she and Ethan rushed out of the apartment.
With both kids gone now, Jake had the day with Rose.... who was still fast asleep. He walked into their bedroom and sat on the bed, where his wife, Rose, was sleeping. He lied beside her and kissed her lightly on her cheek. She switched sides and faced Jake. Then she opened her eyes and looked at him.
"Good morning sweetie," Jake greeted with a smile. Rose smiled back and kissed him on the lips. "Did you sleep well?" Rose shrugged.
Jake smiled and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her again, more passionately. She kissed him back. Rose then muttered. "I had that dream again. That's why I didn't sleep well."
"Aw, sweetie," Jake sighed. He kissed her again on the cheek. "I had it too while sleeping during my break. It'll be over soon, I promise. I mean... we had to expect the aftermath of it to affect us in some way, right?" Rose nodded, still feeling upset. "Here, I'll make us breakfast and we'll relax today, ok?" Rose nodded and smiled. She kissed Jake again.
"I love you," Rose whispered.
"I love you more," Jake mumbled. Rose smiled as Jake got out of bed and went into the kitchen. She sighed and thought about the dream. She shuddered, the nightmare tormenting her thoughts.

"Well, we're back at hell," Ethan sighed as he stepped out of his car with Emma. She sighed a shy smile and rolled her eyes playfully at his retort.
"There had to be one thing you missed about school," Emma sighed, although she also wasn't excited about school. In fact, she couldn't think of one thing she missed about school herself.
"Instead of that, let's list the million things I didn't miss," Ethan groaned as he and Emma walked through the doors of the school. Immediately, one girl squealed and ran over to Ethan. He rolled his eyes, as did Emma. It was the Hannah, the one person they didn't want to see.
Hannah was a junior in high school, just like Ethan. She also happened to be Ethan's ex-girlfriend. She had chest-length, light blonde hair and dark brown eyes. She craved attention and gained it in an unfashionable way. She wore a ton of makeup, pierced her nose and lip, and wore very "revealing" clothing. During their sophomore year, Ethan and Hannah met and dated for while. They broke up when Ethan learned she constantly bullied.
