She changed her mind. She didn't want to go to the party anymore. She could not face the amount of people that were there. To her, the walls were caving in, and she couldn't breathe. Emma wanted to go back home.
"Emma," Jess said. Emma snapped her head towards her. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I think, but... there's a lot of people here," Emma shuddered.
"Well, it is a party," Jess laughed. "Come on, loosen up a bit. I'll start a game of Truth or Dare or Spin the Bottle... or something... with some kids upstairs."
"I'll be up in a minute, I want to find Cody first," Emma responded, looking around the room.
"Oh, that's right, you're dating him," Jess sighed in a bitter way. She walked upstairs. Emma shook her head at her and smiled a little, remembering that she still didn't approve of them dating.
"Hey Emma, I didn't know you were coming to this party," Nathan greeted as he walked towards her.
"Oh, hey," Emma sighed. "Yeah, me neither. This is a little... out of my comfort zone." There was a long pause between them.
"So... I wanted to tell you something-," Nathan started.
"Emma!" a voice interrupted. Emma turned around and saw Cody. She jumped into his hug as he kissed her on the cheek. "How are you doing?"
"I'm good, but I'm a little pressured by how many people are here," Emma whispered.
"Don't be; everyone here is cool," Cody remarked. "I'm going upstairs to play... well I wasn't told if what it was. I don't know yet. Come on up, it should be fun."
"In a minute," Emma whispered as she looked over at Nathan. He seemed a little annoyed and upset. Cody nodded and kissed her on the cheek again before heading upstairs.
"The love boat..." Tony sang into Emma's ear as he walked by her.
"I will call Dad and make him bring the salsa," Emma threatened. Tony ran upstairs while snickering. "Ugh." She looked back at Nathan. "So what were you saying?"
"Oh... nothing," Nathan sighed. "I'm going upstairs to check out that game your boyfriend was talking about. Come on up." He quickly went upstairs. Emma noticed that he had added a bitter tone to "boyfriend" and was very confused.
"Huh... Nathan has been acting sort of weird lately," Emma thought. "I'll ask him what's up later." She also headed upstairs.
When Emma walked into a room, she noticed Jess, Ethan, Hannah, Nicole, Gavin, Cody, Tony, and Nathan. There also were many other kids in the room, whom she weren't familiar with.
"Everyone!" Jess called. Everyone continued talking. "Everyone!" She still wasn't heard. "QUIET!!" Everyone went dead silent and stared at Jess with large, frightened eyes. "Thank you. We are going to play either Truth or Dare or Spin the Bottle. Which one do you want to play?" There were multiple answers for both games.
"Ok, ok, let's just take a vote," Jess groaned. "Raise your hand for Truth or Dare." She counted the number of votes. "Raise your hand for Spin the Bottle." Jess counted the number of votes again. "Ok, the winner is... Truth or Dare! Let's get started!" A few kids began to sit in a circle on the floor. Most of the kids in the room stayed standing, wanting to watch.
"Great, now I can tell my feelings for Emma to her through this game!" Nathan thought. "When will the right time be though...?"
"I hope nobody tries to embarrass me," Emma thought. "That would suck."
