Chapter 10

Jinxx had been working during the night when he felt chest pain. Ignoring it, he continued to move the heavy display stuff. The pain got worse and he had trouble breathing. The last thing he remembered was black dots and the world going black.

Ash hadn't seen Jinxx in forever, and was working when Jinxx collapsed.

When Jinxx collapsed, no one found him for several hours. His boss found him on the floor and kicked him. "Stop sleeping on the job." When he didn't move, his boss kicked him harder. The man heard a sickening crunch. Fear went through him and he immediately went away. It was another hour before anyone else found Jinxx and called 911.

Ash had tried texting Jinxx, just a good night test and a question on whether or not he'd be able to go out with him anytime soon, but when he woke up the next morning and Jinxx still hadn't replied, he began to get worried.

Jinxx was taken to Linda Vista Hospital where he was sent through evaluation. The paramedics found his ICE contacts (IN CASE OF EMERGENCY). The last message was from 'Ash <33333'. He called the number.

Ash accepted the call, thinking it was Jinxx.

"Hello? Is this Ash?"

"Yes?" Ash answered confused to why someone had Jinxx's phone.

"I'm calling from Linda Vista Hospital. I have a Jeremy Ferguson here."

"Jeremy...oh right, Jinxx...Wait! Why is Jinxx in the hospital?" Ashley asked with panic.

"He was found unconscious while at work."

Biting his lip, Ash asked, "D-Do you know what cause him to be unconscious?"

"It appears to be exhaustion and malnutrition. We will know more in a few hours."

"Can...is he allowed visitors?"

"Yes."

By the time Ash had gotten there, Jinxx was done being evaluated by the doctors. The doctor told Ash that Jinxx had freshly broken ribs, a concussion from when he hit his head when he passed out and was very weak. Ashley listened intently and nodded along, he was so worried about Jinxx that his bottom lip quivered. Ash was then asked if he knew what had gotten Jinxx to this point.

Ashley admitted that Jinxx's boss had been working him ridiculously hard, though he didn't know the extent of it, as he hadn't been in much contact with Jinxx lately, probably due to the fact that Jinxx was constantly working. The doctor decided that he'd have some policemen look into it, after Jinxx woke up.

Jinxx slept for 5 hours before showing signs of waking up. Ashley stayed by his side the entire time, totally disregarding that he had work. He didn't want to go anyways, he wanted to make sure Jinxx was ok and stay with him. Besides, if he did go, he'd be very distracted.

When he woke up, Jinxx was disoriented. He had no clue where he was and that scared him. Ashley was quick to assure him that he was all right, and the just had to stay still and be careful. Jinxx calmed down. A little bit later, the cop came to talk to Jinxx.

Ash stayed in the room for moral support if Jinxx needed it. Jinxx told the story. It was revealed that Jinxx's boss was in a huge amount of trouble. Jinxx had worked so much that he should have been paid over time but wasn't. He also told how he got paid less than all the other employees, he got $8.50, while everyone else got 11$ an hour.

Ashley had been angry about the entire situation. He couldn't believe how badly Jinxx had been treated at work. He wished Jinxx had listened to him earlier and quit. Jinxx didn't want to press charges; he only wanted the money he rightfully earned. With him working 50 straight days like that, he should have easily made 200,000$ easily, but he barely got the 2,000 he normally made a month. The owner of the museum wanted to right the wrong that had been done to Jinxx. Jinxx's pay was adjusted, and he then got paid over time for the last 50 days. But after the entire situation was over, he didn't want to go back to the art museum.

Ash was glad that Jinxx wasn't going to work there anymore. Jinxx wasn't sure what he was going to do for work but he knew he really wanted to sleep and cuddle with Ash.

Ash happily invited Jinxx to stay with him at his apartment for a while. The place he had was pretty fancy, seen that he got so much money just in tips along with being paid. Jinxx stayed with Ash for a while, he liked the other man in a romantic way. They'd known each other quite a while, so Jinxx thought it was time to Ask Ash out. Ash had been ecstatic when Jinxx asked, he immediately blurted yes. Jinxx was on cloud 9 with Ash. Ash was too on cloud 9, he was so happy. He couldn't remember the last time anyone had ever been interested in him for a long-term relationship.

Jinxx's only concern was that Ash often slept with customers for tips and stuff. He didn't mind the man giving lap dances and such because he trusted Ash. The sex with other people made him uncomfortable and he tried his best to explain that to Ash.

Ash could understand why Jinxx didn't want him to sleep with other men for tips and extra cash. It was technically cheating, though the sex never had nay meaning to him. He didn't know what to do though; his boss would probably be upset if he stopped doing it. Jinxx understood that his job was his job and he'd never make him quit something that brought in so much money, and especially if Ash liked it.

Ashley ended up trying to negotiate with Jinxx, explaining that the sex was like porn, the actors didn't have attachments, it meant nothing and was all for show. That was like him, he'd put on a show, just for the money, he would never speak to the guys afterwards.

Jinxx reluctantly let it go. He knew Ash cared about him. His only concern was STDs. Ashley always made sure that whomever he slept with wore a condom. He took all the precautions, he didn't want to get an STD, and neither did the club. The rule was that if you slept with a dancer, you had to use a condom provided.

The couple had yet to have sex together, but they had gone as far as making out and Ashley giving Jinxx a lap dance. Ashley often tried to initiate lap dances for Jinxx, he really enjoyed giving them, and they were fun.

Jinxx loved running his hands all over Ash. He was in love with the other man. Ash in turned loved when Jinxx ran his hands all over his body. It felt good, so much better than the guys who touched him at the club. He was falling in love with Jinxx and fast; he was also scared because he didn't really understand what was happening to him.
