Sparrow, sparrow, why do you run places?
You can fly high above the clouds if you please.
But my brothers cannot fly,
the sparrow denied
as she weeped for her brothers who could not fly.
Sparrow, sparrow, why do you lie awake?
You can sleep sound in your nest if you wish.
But my brothers cannot afford to sleep,
the sparrow peeped
as she weeped for her brothers who could not sleep.
Sparrow, sparrow, why do you stay?
where the land is barren of water and game?
The sparrow shook her head and did say
my brothers have no choice but to stay.
as she weeped for her brothers who must stay.
Sparrow, sparrow, please fly away with me.
Your home is now drowning in flames, now let's flee.
The sparrow wiped her tears dry as the flames roared on high.
But my brothers still cannot fly.
