His heart pounded rapidly. His palms were sweating. His breath became rigid with each second that passed. He remembers telling his friends that he was going to confess to you. But time flew by so quickly that Namjoon got so full of himself. He thought that it would be as easy as pie! But with each smile, glance, and hug you always took his breath away and made his legs weak. You two have been good friends for a while. Namjoon has been with you through very thick and thin. The late night arguing and the weeks of silence. He knew that you were worth it. Each struggle bought him another reason to love you even more.
Namjoon tugged at the collar of his shirt as he swallowed every single drop of pride. He felt like he couldn't do it. But Jungkook put a lot of effort into cheering his hyung on. So he couldn't let the maknae down!
You and your best friend were walking down the hallway hand in hand while discussing over the upcoming chemistry test.
"I don't even understand why we got stuck taking this class.." said your best friend.
You sighed and rolled your eyes.
"Well, you were the one who thought it was a good idea to take this class!"
"I thought we were going to blow stuff up!! You know, do epic and cool things with chemicals!!"
You couldn't help but giggle over your friend's weirdness.
Ahh, she never ceases to amaze me! You thought.
You glanced over your shoulder to find Namjoon. He yelled your name and waved at both you and your friend.
"Hey!!" You yelled.
You friend gave you a teasing look.
"Oh snap! Looks like heart throb of our class has his eyes on you."
Your cheeks turned red and you punched your friend in the arm.
"Aish! Give me a break!" You shouted.
Your friend laughed at you and suddenly pushed you towards Namjoon. You smacked straight into his chest causing you to jerk away in embarrassment.
"I'll be back in a little bit, Y/N!" shouted your best friend.
She walked away and snickered back at you before she vanished into the choir room.
"Asshole.." you muttered.
Namjoon let out a nervous chuckle as he played along with what just occurred.
"Best friends are like the siblings..except for the fighting and other stuff.." said Namjoon.
"Well, I only have her to call my best friend. Well technically most of my guys are friends and, you know?" You said.
Namjoon looked exceptionally nice today. He had a white buttoned up dress shirt on with a black tie, he wore black formal pants, and a pair of nice dress shoes. You caught yourself scanning Namjoon up and down, you were reading this boy like a book.
He knows how to be classy! You thought.
"Uh, Y/N?" said Namjoon.
You broke the stare and your face immediately got hot. You just realized that you were staring Namjoon down. You bit down your bottom lip and let out an anxious giggle.
"미안해," You replied.
Namjoon knew he didn't have the courage to confess to you. His nerves were shaking him down to the core. His last resort was to say a simple goodbye to you as he walked toward the campus doors.
"Namjoon! Wait!" You said.
Namjoon felt your arms circle around his waist. His throat closed and a small breath escaped his lips. He stood there stuck to the tile floor. Feeling the warmth of your body radiate to his, his heart was on the edge of bursting.
"Please don't go," You begged.
Namjoon's eyes widened.
"Wh--why not??" He asked.
You felt the lump in your throat get bigger.
"Ever since we had school together I fell in love with you."
Namjoon couldn't process what just came out of your mouth. He turned around and took you by your hands.
"Repeat that again? Y/N?" asked Namjoon.
"I really like you..I honestly do! I just couldn't find the right time to tell you since you are always busy hanging out with your friends. We don't have any classes together so I thought I was rushing it.."
You started to say nonsense, you didn't know what to tell Namjoon so you started going off on a different path of talk. You were silenced by a quick kiss from Namjoon. You fluttered your eyelids open as you felt jolt of static run through your entire body. You wanted to pull him into another kiss.
"You stole the words right out of my mouth, Y/N!" said Namjoon.
He traced his thumb over your cheek forming a small heart as he gave you another kiss.
"Let's not tell everyone of our relationship until we feel like we're ready." You said nervously.
Namjoon tilted your chin and look delicately into your eyes.
"Anything you say Jagi..I can wait for a little while, as long as I have you." said Namjoon.
Your best friend was hiding under the lunch table as she saw the love affair going on.
IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU ASKED HIM, Y/N!!! Your best friend thought.
Both you and Namjoon were laughing as he took you by the hand and walked outside where you two enjoyed the rest of the lunch period alone. You were glad that you made the first move. Namjoon would have regretted never saying a thing if it wasn't for you. You were a lifesaver to his heart.
