(Third Person P.O.V)
Kili Oakenshield stood at the end of the bed watching the pretty blonde Halfling who lay asleep on the bed. Kili could not help admiring her beauty and the way that she seemed at peace when she slept, Firiel looked very much like an angel to Kili, more than those silly elves ever did. However much Kili wanted to deny it, he was already falling for this silly, beautiful little hobbit, but he also knew that it was wrong. He had a duty to uphold for his people, he was an heir of the throne. If something happened to his uncle, to his brother, he would be king and his people would not want a hobbit queen or a half dwarf heir. Kili would deny his heart its love, for the sake of his people, his family and even for the sake of Firiel herself. Kili could hear his uncle outside, getting ready for the long ride. He decided it was time to wake Miss Grey up.
"Miss Grey?" He said lightly touching the Halfling, "Miss Grey! It is time to wake up." Kili put his hand on Firiel a little more forcefully this time, waking her up. She grabbed his arm and flipped him over putting her hand around his throat. Firiel still had not realised it was Kili until he choked out, "F-Firiel...I-It's me...K-Kili..." Recognition shone in Firiel's eyes. She let go quickly and turned her back to Kili. She felt on edge. "I am sorry..."
Kili was shocked, he had not realised that the hobbit could fight. "Do not apologise," Kili said placing a hand on Firiel's shoulder, "It was my fault, I scared you." Firiel moved away from Kili, walking towards her pack. "It does not matter who's fault it was Master Dwarf, we both have a quest to get ready for, please excuse me." Firiel said walking out of the room with her pack, leaving a dumbfounded and hurt Kili to his thoughts.

P.O.V Firiel
I didn't mean to be cold towards Kili... I-He..He just strartled me. I'll make sure to apologise to him later.
After I got dressed and fixed my hair, I went into the kitchen, most of the company was outside waiting so I quickly wrote the note to Mr Baggins, hoping that I would encourage him to join us, I was anxious to learn more about the Shire and the Hobbits and I also genuinely liked Mr Baggins and had hoped to become friends, instead of just acquaintances.
I left the contract on the table, next to the note, for Mr Baggins for when he woke up. I heard Gandalf call me from outside. I walked through the door towards the company and got on to my pony, Daisy. I looked up at the sunrise before me, it was truly a beautiful sight to behold. I wanted to picture this moment forever, the company in front of me, all safe and hopeful, the sky filled with golds, pinks and reds. I knew then in my heart that whatever happens here on this journey would affect everyone in drastic ways and I felt as if it would be for the better.
Please come Bilbo...Please come...

P.O.V Bilbo
I woke up to complete and utter silence. I gathered my dressing gown around me and walked around the house.
"Hello?" I called. I was expecting the dwarves to be around. I guess not. The dwarves surprisingly cleaned the place quite nicely. I walked back into my room and got dressed. I was ready for another day as a Baggins from Bag-End. I walked into the kitchen getting something to eat for breakfast, I was starving from not having supper the night before, I opened the pantry and laughed bitterly at the empty pantry. Excellent.
I turned around to leave to get some food from the market. Something caught my eye on the table, it was a note! I grabbed it and read it fervently.
Dear Mr Baggins,
I'm sorry about last night, the dwarves aren't a very mannered folk but they are honourable people. I had hoped that you would join the company; there is much I had wanted to learn more about the Hobbits. I have left the contract here on the table, I hope you will reconsider. If you do not join us Mr Baggins, I sincerely hope that we meet again.
-Firiel Grey
I found myself wanting to go with them, I signed the contract that Miss Grey had left, greatful that she left it for me. I grabbed it and ran, pocketing Miss Greys letter. I did something unexpected of a Baggins of Bag-End and I'm proud because it was something entirely expected of a child of Belladonna Took... I was going on an adventure!
'Thank you Miss Grey, for not giving up on me...'

P.O.V Firiel
I rode beside Bofur, he was telling me jokes and otherwise distracting me from the other dwarves who were talking about Bilbo. Some were making bets about whether he would come along or not. I hoped he would. Kili was avoiding me. I suppose it was because of how I treated him this morning. I slowed down to walk beside him. "I'm sorry about this morning.." I muttered. Kili looked at me surprised. "It's fine." He said not looking at me.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes, It's fine." Kili raised his voice slightly, but not enough for the others to hear. I wasn't convinced however. Before I got a chance to press him on the matter I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"Wait! Wait!" Mr Baggins called.
"Mr Baggins! You made it!!" I exclaimed, grinning. Bilbo looked over at me and smiled, he waved at me with his free hand and almost fell over in the process. I giggled which made Kili glare at me.
"I signed it!" Mr Baggins gasped, handing the contract to Balin.
Balin smiled, "Everything appears to be in order. Welcome, Master Baggins, to the company of Thorin Oakenshield." The dwarves cheered, all except Thorin.
"Give him a pony." Thorin said. I frowned, could he at least pretend to be happy to see Mr Baggins. Kili and Fili got off their horses to help him onto a pony.
"No, no, no, no, that--that won't be necessary, thank you, but I--I'm sure I can keep up on foot. I-- I--I've done my fair share of walking holidays, you know. I even got as far as Frogmorton once--WAGH!" I giggled as Kili and Fili pulled Mr Baggins onto the pony. I waited for Bilbo to start riding before I rode next to him.
"Hello Mr Baggins," I smirked. He looked up from where he sat and smiled.
"Good morning Miss Grey." I frowned, it didn't feel right for him to be overly formal with me.
"You can call me Firiel.." I murmured. Mr Baggins looked up at me and blushed.
"I-uh... I don't think that would be very proper..." Mr Baggins looked embarrassed.
I sighed, "Look, I don't think proper is very important at the moment," I tried to choose my next words very carefully, "If something happens, and you needed my help... shouting 'Miss Grey' would probably take longer than it would just to say Firiel." Bilbo thought for a moment and then he smiled.
"Then I guess, Firiel, you should just called me, Bilbo... My name is far more of a mouth full anyway." He smiled sheepishly. Bilbo and I spoke more about each others lives, I told him about growing up in Rivendell and he told me about the Shire. Bilbo started searching his pockets and his nose was red.
"Ohh. All this horse hair, I'm having a reaction." Bilbo continued searching through his pockets, he looked up at me shocked. He then turned towards the group up front.
"No, no, wait, wait, stop! Stop! We have to turn around." The entire company stopped, they turned to look at Bilbo.
"What on earth is the matter?" Gandalf asked, clearly as confused as the others and myself
"I forgot my handkerchief." Bilbo said.
"You have got to be kidding me!" I groaned. Bofur tore a strip of his clothing and threw it and Bilbo.
"Here! Use this." He laughed. Bilbo caught it and looked at it with disgust. I felt sorry for Bilbo, like usual, so I started looking through my pockets.
I could hear Thorin and the front, "Move on."
Gandalf took this opportunity to use one of his famous lectures on Bilbo, "You'll have to manage without pocket-handkerchiefs and a good many other things, Bilbo Baggins, before we reach our journey's end. You were born to the rolling hills and little rivers of the Shire, but home is now behind you; the world is ahead." Gandalf went up ahead to talk to Thorin.
"Aha! There you are!" I exclaimed holding up one of my handkerchiefs that I had brought from Rivendell, "Here you are Bilbo." I said handing him the handkerchief.
"Thank you, Miss G--Firiel. This is really kind of you." Bilbo looked at me I could not recognise the look in his eyes. I smiled.
"Well what are friends for?" I said, an unfamiliar feeling in my stomach.
For the rest of the ride I watched my surroundings. Middle-Earth was truly beautiful. I spoke to Bilbo a couple times during the ride, but I also spoke to Bofur, Gandalf and Fili. It was late after-noon when Thorin decided to set up camp.
"Firiel, can I speak to you for a moment?" Gandalf asked me as I was tying Daisy up with the rest of the ponies.
"Yes Father."
