  P.O.V Third Person
The company thought they were done for. With Dwalin, Bofur, Dori, Ori and Nori, tied onto a spit, roasting, right in front of the others. Who could blame them for giving up and otherwise feeling miserable? The trolls spoke amongst themselves, discussing the best way to cook their prisoners.
"Don't bother cooking them. Let's just sit on them and squash them into jelly." William, the troll looked at the dwarves hungrily.
"They should be sautéed and grilled with a sprinkle of sage." Bert stated.
"Is this really necessary?"Dori cried, as he stuck his head up from the fire. He just wanted the humiliation to be over.
"Ooh, that does sound quite nice." William agreed, ignoring the dwarfs comment.
"Untie us, you monsters! Oin exclaimed from where the others were tied in sacks.

"Take on someone your own size! Gloin continued. Far over to the left sat a small blonde hobbit, she looked defeated tied up in the sack. On her right was Kili Oakenshield, heir of Erebor, on her left was the Burglar. Bilbo, trying to be brave for his friend, smiled at her encouragingly. Kili whispered into Firiel's ear, "Its okay...We'll get out of this, I swear." Her young blonde head shook at him, how could he promise something he has no control over?

"Never mind the seasoning; we ain't got all night! Dawn ain't far away, so let's get a move on. I don't fancy being turned to stone." Bilbo heard. He had an idea. The hobbit shuffled his way closer to the trolls; he looked behind and locked eyes with very beautiful brown ones, filled with fear. He smiled at her and silently mouthed, "It'll all be okay."
"Wait! You are making a terrible mistake." Bilbo exclaimed, putting his plan into action.

You can't reason with them, they're half-wits! Dori yelled, trying to dissuade the hobbit from risking his life. He knew that the Trolls wouldn't listen and end up eating poor Bilbo raw.
"Half-wits? What does that make us?" Bofur replied to Dori. He wanted to see what the hobbit was up to. Not that he saw anything of interest when the spit was turned again and he was facing the other side.
"Uh, I meant with the, uh, with, uh, with the seasoning." Bilbo stammered.
"What about the seasoning?" Bert asked, curious.

"Well, have you smelt them? You're going to need something stronger than sage before you plate this lot up." Bilbo continued. The dwarves yelled at the 'traitor', But Firiel understood that Bilbo was stalling. She watched the hobbit with fascination, not going unnoticed by a jealous Kili, Firiel was starting to realise that there was more to this hobbit and she was caught by surprise when she realised that...she liked that. Kili and the other dwarves started to kick Bilbo. Bilbo almost cried out in pain, but quickly stopped himself.

"What do you know about cooking, dwarf?" Tom asked venomously, he didn't believe anything this hobbit was saying.
"Shut up, and let the, uh, flurgaburburrahobbit talk."
"Uh, th--the secret to cooking dwarf is, um--" Bilbo paused trying to think of something.
"Yes? Come on." Bert pushed.
"It's, uh--" Bilbo searched his head for something, anything that would help.
"Tell us the secret!" Bert cried, growing impatient.

"Ye--yes, I'm telling you, the secret is ... to skin them first!" Bilbo regretted saying that afterwards. He looked at Firiel's eyes as they grew more fearful.
"Tom, get me the filleting knife." Bert ordered. The dwarves were mad, yelling and kicking. Bilbo swallowed... 'Just wonderful...' he thought sarcastically.
"If I get you, you little--" Gloin threatened.
"I won't forget that!" Dwalin growled.
"What a load of rubbish! I've eaten plenty with their skins on. Scuff them, I say, boots and all." Bilbo could see Gandalf slipping through the bushes. Bilbo hoped that he had a plan.
"'e's right! Nothing wrong with a bit of raw dwarf! Nice and crunchy." William continued on from Tom. William then grabbed Bombur and held him upside down, he hovered the poor dwarf over his mouth.
"Not--not that one, he--he's infected!" Bilbo exclaimed.

"You what?" the troll said.
"Yeah, He's got worms in his ... tubes." Bilbo hesitated, but the troll, not taking any chances dropped the dwarf with the others.
"In--in fact they all have, they're in--infested with parasites. It's a terrible business; I wouldn't risk it, I really wouldn't." Bilbo continued, growing confident.
"Parasites, did he say parasites?" Oin asked outraged.
"We don't have parasites! You have parasites!" Kili continued. Firiel rolled her eyes alongside Bilbo, quite annoyed that they were messing up his plan. The rest of the dwarves start yelling at the burglar, screaming about their lack of parasites. Thorin soon realises the hobbits plan when he notices Firiel kicking the dwarves, trying to make them stay quiet. Thorin does the same, the dwarves soon get the message.
"I've got parasites as big as my arm." Oin stated.

"Mine are the biggest parasites, I've got huge parasites!" Kili called.
"We're riddled." Nori cried.
"Yes, I'm riddled." Ori agreed with his older brother.
"Yes we are. Badly!"Dori said, joining in.
"What would you have us do, then, let 'em all go?" Tom asked Bilbo. Tom was very suspicious of the Halfling.

"Well..." Bilbo said, looking at the dwarves, at the blonde hobbit. His heart skipping a few beats when she returned his stare. He tore his gaze away and returned to look at the trolls. Kili thankful that he did so.
"You think I don't know what you're up to? This little ferret is taking us for fools!" Tom roared.
"Ferret?" Bilbo questioned, slightly hurt.
"Fools?" Bert said, mimicking the hobbit.

"The dawn will take you all!" Gandalf exclaimed as he appeared on a large rock in front of the trolls.
"Who's that?" Bert asked. The other trolls shrugged at him.
"No idea." Tom answered.
"Can we eat 'im too?" William asked eagerly.

Gandalf raised his staff above his head and brought it down onto the rock, causing it to split. Sunlight poured through, causing the trolls to turn to stone. The dwarves cheered. Gandalf closest to his daughter undoes her confinements. He turned to help the dwarves whilst Firiel ran to where Bilbo sat. She helped him out of the sack. Bilbo turned to thank her but stood shocked when she hugged him, he awkwardly brought his hands around her, not sure where he should place them. He had never hugged a woman before that was not his mother. Firiel whispered into the hobbits ear, "Thank you, you clever hobbit." She pulled away smiling, her cheeks were a slight pink but Bilbo's were bright red. Both their hearts were beating a mile a minute. Kili looked on jealousy piercing the dwarf's heart. " Umm...I-it was m-my pleasure..." Bilbo stuttered, smiling sweetly. Deep down Bilbo knew his feelings for Firiel. On the other hand, Firiel was yet to realise what the hell was going on as her heart beat a little faster and her cheeks became a few shades redder.
