ISABELLA POV

After i had showered and eaten, i sat on my bed and stared at the note. I was mentally having a debate if i should text him with a thank you or just store his number and leave it alone. I mean, i fell asleep at the dudes house and he brought me home! I doubt any other guy would go through much trouble. They would have either woke me up or just left me on the sofa with a blanket.

I took a nervous sigh before dialling his number on my phone. I saved it and then decided i would just text him. Plus, i feel bad for not even saying thank you.

“Hey. Just wanted to say thanks for the night out last out. And thanks for bringing me home. –Izzy.” He probably didn’t have my number so i just put my name at the end. I left my phone on the bed before i started to get ready for work.

Once i was all ready, i grabbed my phone and bag before starting my walk to work. I pulled my hood up and stuffed my hands into the pockets. It was nearing winter and it was already freezing here! Half way there, my phone buzzed. I checked and i couldn’t help the smile that came on my lips.

“Anytime babe. What are you doing now?” I blushed at what he called me.

“I’m walking to work.” I had just arrived into the store when i sent that and when i looked up, i saw the place was packed! Then i remembered that today there was a sale on.

I rushed to the back, threw my stuff into my locker and then went to assist people. With a lot of talking and walking, my team and i finally got rid of all the people. It took a good hour and almost all of our energy. The sale was only from 10 to 12 and i started at 11.

“You did good today, Izz.” Derek threw his arm over my shoulders making me give him a small smile. He always does this and before i never had a problem with it but for some strange reason, it feels weird now. Like he doesn’t belong there. I can’t really explain it because i have never had this feeling before.

“Thanks Derek,” As soon as i finished saying this, the door bell rang making us all look up at the customer. I smiled when i saw it was Dazz but frowned when i saw him glaring at me. His eyes were that unusual black and his body was shaking rapidly. It reminded of the time i first saw him. His gaze shifted to someone behind me and it was all too late.

Without warning, he lunged at Derek, tackling him to the wall behind us. I gasped, and turned around to see Dazz had Derek by the neck, a foot off the ground. How he managed to get across the store so fast and lift a grown man off the floor is beyond my knowledge.

“Derek!” I yelled, running to them. I tried to pull Dazz off but he didn’t even budge! This guy was like stone! “Dazz, let him go!” I yelled, watching in horror as Dereks’ face became paler and paler. I looked around for help but the rest of the employees were all too scared to move and Tony wasn’t in today. I turned back to Derek and saw him close his eyes. “Stop,” I whispered, feeling a tear roll down my cheek.

I ran to Derek as Dazz dropped him to the floor. His eyes were still closed but i felt his pulse beating very lightly. I sighed in relief and was about to hug him but i felt someone grab my arm harshly and pull me up.

I tried yanking my arm out of Dazzs’ grasp but he didn’t loosen. I felt terrified as he dragged me to his car and threw me in. In a second he was in the driver’s seat, pulling out of the car park. What he just did to Derek, without even breaking a sweat, is what scared me. This man can do harm and he just happened to throw me into his car.

I scooted away from him and shut my eyes tight. He couldn’t possibly hurt me, right? Seeing what he just did to Derek made me feel sick! And what was the reason for his doings? What happened to the sweet gut i met last night? The one that brought me home after i fell asleep at his house?
