IZZY POV
"Don't play with your food, sweetie." Mom scolded me, slapping my hand with her fork. I glared at my plate as i rubbed my hand. She then continued her conversation with Jesse while i sat there bored out of my mind.
Dazz was in a conversation with my dad, discussing things that Alphas discuss, Wes had gone to the bathroom and Jesse and my mother were talking about which flowers would bloom better in this season. My food was my only company right now so it's not my fault the roast and mash potatoes make a good smiley face.
Or a sad face.
"Don't you think, Izzy?" I looked up to see everyone staring at me, a small smile on each one of their faces. Confused about what they were talking about, i quickly agreed.
"Uh, yeah." I mumbled, picking my fork up again. Just like that, they turned around to start conversing again. I rolled my eyes and released a sigh as i began to play with my food again.
My stomach was slowly doing cart wheels whenever i reminded myself about telling my parents about the idea. In fact, i was so scared about them finding out Jesse and Wes were mates that i made Wes sit next to me. Dazz was angry and we all had an argument but luckily my parents came just before anything could be thrown.
I didn't want to imagine what Wes was doing. Hes been gone for a good five minutes now, leaving me alone like this. What kind of soldier leaves a comrade in the middle of war? Not a very good one.
I almost screamed with delight when i saw him walking through the lounge. Not only would i have company but now i could finally get this discussion over and down with.
I grinned and wiggled my eyebrows at him, making me scowl at me. I chuckled but i had to keep it queit or my parents would start questioning me. I watched Wes as he slowly came and sat on his seat next to me.
"Now?" I whispered, leaning into him.
He nodded, "Yes. You start."
"No way!" I whisper yelled. "You start." I faced my front and crossed my arms, showing him that i was not willing to start the discussion off. He huffed before he cleared his throat, loud enough for everyone to stop talking.
See, i could've never have done that.
"Izzy and i want to talk about that wedding." He said. Everyone was quiet as we all knew that Dazz and i were mates.
"We can't back out, though." Dad mumbled, looking sadly down at his plate.
"We can't back out but we can quit half way," Wes said, smiling like a goof.
"What are you talking about, dear?" Mom asked, lifting her wine glass to her lips.
"Izzy came up with an idea where the treaty will still be valid and we get to stay with our mates." Wes said, his eyes widening as he let that word slip.
"Our mates?" Dad asked, an eyebrow raised. I sighed and thought that they might as well know.
"Jesse and Wes are mates." I said, taking a sip of my water. My mother choked on her wine as my father choked on his saliva.
"But..." Dad trailed, pointing his finger everywhere.
"Yes. I'm gay, he's gay. And we're mates." Jesse said, annoyance clear in his voice. He rolled his eyes as he put a spoonful of mash potatoes in his mouth.
"I would never have guessed.." Mom mumbled, staring at Wes.
"I know right!" I yelled, putting my hand out for her to high five. She gave me a flat look so i slowly put it down, trying to make it less awkward.
