The Monday of Vacation Week
*at age 23*
Your POV
Today was the day everyone was leaving to head out to the house we rented that was near a lake, for the mini vacation we planned. Hayley, Mark, Chelsea, Bob, Mandy, Wade, Molly, and I were going to meet up at the house, unload the luggage, and have a relaxing day at the house. We are going to be staying there for a week, and on Friday is Mark's birthday. So for the rest of the days, we had the lake to ourselves.
I was making sure I packed everything I needed. Clothes, bathroom accessories, phone and phone charger, and Mark's gift. I hugged it close to my chest, hoping that he will love his present. I went to put my stuff in the car, and then came back up to see if Hayley was ready.
"Hayley!" I screamed from the top of my lungs, not caring if I was disturbing the neighbors.
"Yeah?" She said, coming tom her bedroom.
"You almost ready to head out to the house?"
"Yeah, just packing up the last of my things. After that, I will be loading them in the car."
"Alright, I am going to start the car and wait." I said, and went back down the stairs to the car.
Hayley came down five minutes later, with her luggage in hand, and phone in the other. She put her things in the trunk and got in the passenger seat. We both buckled our seat belts, and looked at each other.
"AUX cord?" I asked, with the cord in my hand.
"You know it!" She replied, and took it.
We started to play the music when I drove out of the apartment complex. All of a sudden, the remix version 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' came on. We laughed, and started to sing to it.
Now, this is a story all about how,
my life got twisted upside down.
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there,
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air
In West Philadelphia, born and raised,
on the playground is where I spent most of my days.
Chillin' out maxin', relaxin' all cool,
and all shootin' some b-ball outside of the school

We were singing and dancing for about two hours. When we finally arrived at the house, it looked like an average house for a family. It is shaded a light gray, with a dark gray rooftop. It was beautiful. In the back, was the lake with a slide and a deck. There were five bedrooms, four bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and then of course the back yard with the lake.
I pulled the car into the driveway, turned the ignition off, and got out. Hayley followed and we both looked with an intrigued face. We looked at each other and laughed. We gathered our things from the trunk of the car, locked it, and then went inside of the house.
As soon as we walk in, we met with the hallway that has the stairs off to the right side, that is attached to the wall that is connected to the kitchen. On the left side is the living room, and the bedrooms are down the hallway close to the stairs. Three bedrooms were upstairs, and two were downstairs.
Hayley and I took a tour of the house. The kitchen was a pretty beige color, with an island, bar, and the dining table. The table was a beautiful dark wood, with a glaze finish. The island, bar, and counters were granite covered, and the backsplash was a tile covering. The living room had a hard wood floor, white couch, white love seat, and two leather recliners. It was also painted a beige color, but also with a white trim at the top of the ceiling.
The bedrooms were pretty plain. Two of the bedrooms had a queen size bed, one had a king size, and the other two had full size beds. They were all painted the same color as well. A queen size bedroom and a full size had a connected bathroom. The king size bedroom had a bathroom to itself, along with the other queen size upstairs and full size downstairs.
And finally, we made it to the backyard. It was pretty peaceful. The deck was like a sidewalk for the lake. Just one step to left or right, and you would be taking a swim with the fishes. It also had a cute little slide. The owners must have kids, you thought.
You must have been in other world, because Hayley started to scream your name.
"(Y/n)!" She yelled.
"What? Oh sorry, must've zoned out. What's up" You said, breaking out of the daze.
"Everyone just arrived. Lets go pick out a bedroom to stay in." She said and started to walk inside the slide doors."
"Okay." I said and walked in along with her.
Everyone started to walk in and we greeted each other. It soon came to my turn to say hi to Mark. I said hey and hugged him. As I was hugging him, Chelsea was staring right at me. I cocked an eyebrow when I saw her smirk. I just let go of the thought and removed myself from Mark's embrace. The greetings were now over, and we were choosing bedrooms. Hayley and I choose the full size bedrooms. I got the one upstairs, and she got the one downstairs. Wade and Molly got the queen size close to the staircase upstairs. Mark and Chelsea got the queen size close to my room, which might be weird. And, Bob and Mandy got the king size, which was downstairs.
I gathered my luggage and went up to my room. As I was walking up the stairs, I dropped my bathroom accessory bag. I muttered a "Crap." and tried to grab it, but to my avail, I couldn't. Mark must have seen me struggling, so he grabbed my bag for me, and gave it to me.
"Here you go, (Y/n)." He said.
"Thanks. Maybe next time, I shouldn't pack too many things." I said and laughed.
He chuckled and went to gather his things. As I made my way up the stairs, I went into my bedroom, and unloaded everything. When I was finished, it was around five o'clock. I made my way downstairs, and met a scent filled aroma. I walked into the kitchen, and Molly was making dinner. She was making pasta, with different types of sauces to choose from.
"Hey Molly, do you need help with cooking?" I asked and went to the sink to wash my hands.
"Yeah, thanks (Y/n). Can you cut up the tomatoes, and then shred some cheese for me?" She asked.
"Yeah, no problem." I replied and went to cut the tomatoes.

After dinner, everyone made their ways to their rooms to go to sleep. Once I made it to my room, I closed the door, turned off the lights, and got into bed. I plugged my phone up to the charger, and played some music on a low volume level. As I was drifting off to sleep, I smiled to myself.
