Your POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock, which stated that it was seven in the morning. I slowly started to arise from my position on my bed. I turned to my nightstand to turn off my alarm that was set on my phone. Once the annoying tone was turned to silence, I started to stretch my arms and legs. Whilst stretching, the calendar made its way to my viewpoint. Today was the day of Pax Prime. This year, Pax was being held in Los Angeles. I was excited because we didn't have to travel to Seattle this time. The cost for hotel and everything would be too overwhelming.
I got off my bed and made my way to the bathroom. My reflection in the mirror was too horrific, so I started the shower. While the water was starting to get warm, I turned on Spotify. The first song to pop up was Wildfire by Natalie Taylor. I found this song while watching Catfish on MTV. The song continued to play while I got into the shower. I rinse my hair in the water and start to massage the shampoo into my scalp; I started to think about whose booth I would have this year. My job was to take care of a booth and whom it was assigned to. I help out with their booth, set up signing tables, and take them to their panel.
When I rinsed off my body from all the shampoo and soap, I stepped out of the shower. I turned the faucet off, and dried myself with a towel. Once dried, I walked to my room to put on my uniform. My uniform consists of: the red, long sleeved Pax shirt, black shorts, and gray vans. After I put it on, I stood in front of the stand up mirror in my room. I ran my hand down the shirt to get out all the wrinkles out, and then admired the outfit again.
I went to my nightstand to grab my car keys, phone, and backpack. I went downstairs, walked out the door and locked it, then went to my car. I buckled my seatbelt, then started making my way to the convention center. It was just down the street, so it wasn't that bad of a drive. Once I parked my car, I went inside and showed my badge.
I was greeted by Audrey at the front entrance. She was wearing the same shirt, but with jeans, and black converse.
"Morning, (Y/n)." She said and hugged me.
"Morning, Audrey. You ready for today?"
"Yeah, are you ready?"
"Yep! So, where am I assigned this year?" I asked with a bit of curiosity.
"Here, let me check." She started to browse her clipboard to search for my name. "Okay, you will be on the south side of the building. You have about four guys coming to you booth. One of the guys is already here, his name is Jack. He says he knows you."
"Oh yeah, we are friends. We met last year while he came to the convention. Thanks, Audrey!" I exclaimed.
"No problem. And don't forget, they have a panel around two o'clock." Audrey said.
"Got it!" I started to run to the farthest part of the building to meet up with Jack. Jack and I met last year, while he was having a greeting session with some fans in a line for another booth. We started to become friends, and we Skype from time to time. He even played a few games for each of our channels.
As I made it to the booth, no one was there. I went around to the other side of the table, and put my backpack down in a chair. As I was reaching for my list that was in my pack, a pair of hands landed on my shoulder. I literally fell the floor in shock. Jack hovered over me and was laughing uncontrollably.
"Jack! You scared me to death, literally!"
"I'm sorry, (Y/n). I was just messing with you." He extended his arm and helped me on the floor.
"But, it's great to see you in person. Not over the screen." He then hugged me.
"It's great to see you too, Jack. So, who are the other guys that you have a booth and panel with?"
"Oh, they are great guys! You will love them. They are into the same games and stuff as we are."
"Oh okay. When do you think they will be here?" I asked and checked the time on my phone.
"They will be here soon. One of them decided to sleep in late." Jack said.
"Okay, you want to grab something to drink while we wait?"
"Sure."
~Time Skip~
Jack and I decided to go back to the booth and catch up in our daily lives, when two guys showed up. Jack immediately shot out of his seat and greeted the two guys, but something was off. They seem familiar.
Wait a minute...
"Bob?" "Wade?" I looked at them dumbfounded.
"(Y/n), is that you?" Bob asked as Wade had opened eyes.
"Yeah. Hey, Bob. Hey, Wade." I said as I put on a small smile.
"(Y/n)!" Wade shouted as both of them came to me and gave me a huge hug. Jack got jealous and decided to join.
"(Y/n), we've been wondering what happened to you. Hayley told us you moved, but never told us where." Wade said.
"Yeah, I am sorry about that. I just needed to get away, but I never wanted to loose contact. I just felt like y'all didn't want to talk to me since that night."
"Trust me, it has been boring without you. A lot has happened since you left." Bob said.
"Well, why don't we sit down and talk about it while we wait on the last guy?" I suggested and started to go around the table when I heard someone running toward us.
"Hey, sorry I'm late. I didn't mean to oversleep." The voice said.
That voice...
"Stop making up excuses, Mark! You are always late for everything. But give me a hug, bro!"
That name...
I started to raise to my feet. Good thing my back was turned to Mark. I didn't want him to see my face. My heart started to pound like crazy and I could feel it in my ears. I flinched once he started to try and get my attention.
"Hey, are you the Pax attendant helping us with our booth? I'm sorry for being late, I'm Mark."
I quietly spoke up. "I know who you are."
"Well, that's kind of creepy. But anyways, what's your name?"
"Mark, that's-" Bob started, but then I cut him off.
"No, Bob, it's okay. I think I can handle this." I said as I started to turn around.
Once I started to turn around, I kept my head low. I didn't want to face him until I could see him. As soon as I looked at his face, he went pale. His jaw was locked into place, his eyes were wide open, and he just looked at me like he lost something.
"(Y/n)?"
"Hi, Mark..."
I can't believe it's him...
