Let me count the population that currently populates the Foster residence so you can picture the atmosphere. We got an eight-year-old Nate, one and a half year old Chris and Jane, and recently one-year-old Austin. Okay, so there weren’t as much as I thought. Does Isom count? I think I’ll count him. So that’s the new additions to this messy group of ours.
Mark skipped towards the front steps while Ryan and I followed behind him. He must be so proud. I could hear the loud cries of babies. Mark bursts in and Austin started to crawl towards him with excitement written all over his adorable face and gasping laughs. He squat down and scooped Austin up, almost flinging him into the air. “Hey, squirt! I got a little something for you!”
“About time you show up.” Pontius scoffed. He was on the floor with Rebecca and the kids.
“Hello to you too.” I scoffed,
“Hi, Ryan.” Rebecca greeted,
“Hello.”
“Where have you been?” Pontius asked,
“It’s a Sunday.” I shrugged, “You know where I was.”
“Hey! Ally and Ryan are here!” Nate exclaimed,
“Hey, buddy!” I ruffled with his hair, “Where’s your dad?”
“He went out to get something.”
I flopped next to Pontius and leaned on the couch, “Hi, Sophie!”
“Hey! I thought you weren’t coming!” She pouted and then glanced at Ryan, “Ah, and her prince charming is here as well.”
“Hello.” Ryan smiled,
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” I smiled,
Amy entered the room and gave Mark a kiss on the cheek from the back, “You’re here!”
“I’m here!”
“Hey, Ally!”
“Hey!” I waved, “I got Austin something! And it’s way better than Mark’s!”
“It’s the thought that counts.” Mark protested, tickling Austin on his sides as he lets out a giggle.
“Hi, cutie.” I picked Jane up and put her on my lap. She smiled and dropped herself on my stomach.
Nate sat next to Ryan, who was next to me. “Aren’t you supposed to be in Chicago?”
He snickered, “I’m on vacation, buddy.”
“I think I’m sick.” He pouted,
“What seems to be the problem, sir?”
“I don’t know.”
He jammed his fingers on Nate’s sides, “Does that hurt?”
He let out a laugh, “No! That tickles! Stop that!”
“Do you feel better now, sir?”
“Yes! Yes!” He giggled,
“Rebecca, where’s Cubbie?” I asked again because I wasn’t sure about Nate’s answer,
“He’s out with Isom. Well, that’s what he told me.”
“Where’s Codi?”
“Here I am!” She showed from the other side of the house. “Have you seen Isom? He said he’d be here by now.”
“I don’t know.”
Mark flopped next to Ryan with Austin on his arms, “You guys are not going to believe what I stumbled upon earlier today!”
