 CHAPTER 13: Oops, I Stuttered

***

It has already been exactly one week and two days. I've lasted that long, and let me tell you, it's pretty darn nerve racking to see the progress I've gone through. It's only been a bit of time but it seems that over a weekend and two days, I've completely turned my life around.

"Hey Mimi!"

"Oh hey Tom! Nice seeing you!" I waved a hand and giggled with enthusiasm.

Wow, what a goddamn prick. I hate that guy.

"Oh my god!", some girl shrieked, "Mimi! I love your shirt!"

I smiled and looked discretely looked down at my turquoise, tribal print shirt. When they say tribal, I swear to god it's just a synonym for disorganized triangles, because seriously, a much more accurate name for this style would be 'a cheap triangle mess'.

"Aw, thank you so much! I love your shirt too!"

Too bad you forgot to cover your boobs with it though.

"Stop being so sweet!" cooed some petite girl to my right. It's a pity that I can't even tell most of them apart. They all sound so similar with the way they encourage my painfully obvious fake behaviour.

In my haste to leave, I accidently bumped into one of the english teachers who were all lined up against the school building for an upcoming meeting.

"Oh my gosh! I'm sorry, it's just I didn't see you there." I shrugged hoplessly, and gave a small apologetic smile.

The teacher noticed me and waved it off, "Oh it's fine Mimi".

I blinked, a bit taken aback since I've never even seen this teacher before.

"Uh, yeah"

I waved goodbye, and trudged along. I guess my newly created reputation doesn't just spread among the students, but the teachers too.

Success.

"Hey! Wow girl, someones been working on their fabulous hair!" The girl Meagan, I think her name's Meagan, rushed up to me and touched my hair.

"Thanks" I spit out from my grimace. I hate people touching me.

"Ugh, so nice! Just like you." She continued, probably wanting to hook up with Clarence or something.

I cringed in the inside and backed away slowly.

"Yeah, um, I have to go, but you're super nice too!"

I just shrugged and smiled it off as if it was no big deal when in all honesty all I wanted to do was give them the finger and tell them to go eat dirt. They were all faker than Jane Fonda's face.

That's right you pile of idiots. Eat up my disgustingly bubbly yet charming personality. I formed it up just for people like you.

I walked out of the school building, all the while releasing the tension from my shoulders, not bothering to contact Clare. I need a few minutes to myself after all the attention I've been getting. It's not like I was super queen bee popular, gosh no, I was just accepted as the geniuinely excited character who does everything nice for the benefit of everyone.

So I'm more of the queen bee gone right I suppose.

I'm really worried as to how no one seems to grasp the concept of lying and deception. Because really, I'm just using their ignorance for my own benefit- and no one seems to notice.

I grumbled around, trying to find my earbuds so that I could listen to something enjoyable for once instead of hearing the same lunch room chatter that numbs the mind, when some idiot left their foot right out in front of me.
