Chapter 6: Goodbye

Life's like a giant swing. You're either swooping up all high and mighty, or falling onto the dusty, hard, and unwelcoming ground. Unfortunately, I'm on the ground with multiple broken bones and a slight case of brain damage.

"God, I swear he gets hotter everyday" Raddy sighed.

I followed her line of vision and ended up staring at the school's new transfer student. A hoard of giggling girls surrounded him as he nervously tried to get away from them.

"He's European" whispered Rads.

I snorted.

Of course he is.

"Look Rads...I have to tell you something" I grumbled.

Rads just nodded and ogled the exchange student some more.

What the heck is up with girls and their obsession with European males?

Frustrated, I slammed my math book onto her desk and waved my hand in front of her face.

"What?" she scowled.

I flailed my arms and repeated my statement.

" I. Need. To. Tell. You. Something." I enunciated clearly. The impatience was clearly laced in my voice.

She sighed once more and decided to direct her attention towards me. She probably saw my eye twitch.

This is it, I told myself.

Now or never.

Fight or flight.

Taking a deep breath, I opened my mouth just to be greeted with an unwanted visitor.

"How's it goin' guys!" Greg shouted from the classroom door.

Why is he even here? He has language for third period.

He sauntered over to where Raddy and I were sitting with Bay right along his side.

"What're you guys doin' here?" Rads asked cheerfully.

"Ms. Motcher had some sort of emergency in the teachers lounge, and it's been a while...so we came to visit" Bay answered.

Speaking of teachers...Mr. Rodrick is still a no show. I shuddered. I pray to God he's not in the teachers lounge with some sort of an "emergency".

"Cool" Raddy grinned, "Ms. Mimi over here's gonna tell us something 'important'"

Bay looked at me curiously while Greg just 'Ooohed'.

I glared at her.

"Your air quotes are unnecessary"

She just shrugged as she motioned for me to start. I looked around quickly hoping that there would be no more interruptions.

And that's when the piranhas in my stomach began attacking my intestines. Doubts unwillingly assembled into my brain and formed an army. My foot began tapping rapidly as my palms became sweaty. Not to mention that I'm also fidgeting worse than a girl with diarrhea.

So this is what it feels like to be deathly nervous. I guess I should just say it before I get the chance to escape.

"Well guys, I'm moving"

All of their faces froze.

"What?" They all shouted at the same time.

"I said, I'm moving" I slurred slowly.

Raddy just sat there with her jaw open, Bay looked at me like I was lying, and Greg just looked confused.

"What do you mean by 'moving'?" Greg asked.
