I'm writing this chapter with my laptop and here's a picture of Michael! It's his birthday today. :) (p.s he dyed his hair red, gah!! )
-Chapter 13-
Working at starbucks helped me ease my mind and communicate with other people. While taking down orders, I couldn't help myself from thinking about Ashton. His smile, his jaw, his collarbone and everything about him was perfect. I was the complete opposite. I can't even think of why he would like me back.
Pushing away my thoughts, I welcomed new customers and did what I was required to do; take down orders.
When there were no customers, Tom, the barista came towards me.
"I honestly can't wait till i get out of here. I'm exhausted!" He complained, wiping the counter beside me.
"Who isn't! Gosh my school term is almost coming up. I think i'm going to quit next week." I frowned.
"Beth! Oh no, my favourite is going away," He said while dramatically placing his palm on his chest.
"Please, we've barely even talked! " I chuckled.
A new customer was coming our way and Tom winked at me before going back to the bar counter.
So that was how my day went, with me taking orders and getting into short conversations with Tom. He definitely made my day way more worth living.
After passing the keys to the next person on shift, I walked out of starbucks and on the streets. It was only 6pm so there was light. The sky looked very artsy, with a mixture of purple, blue and pink. I quickly took out my phone to snap a picture of it, not wanting to miss such an art. I continued walking down the streets of Sydney until my house came to my view. It was only 6.30. Which meant that Ashton still had 30 minutes to arrive.
I unlocked my door and hopped into the shower, giving myself a quick rinse. I smelled like coffee! I wore my grey sweatpants and a oversized hoodie which belonged to my dad. I felt the need to feel comfortable.
A knock from the door made me jump slightly. I knew it was Ashton.
I ran to the door and opened the door.
Ashton stood infront of me, wearing a pair of bball shorts and muscle tee. Damn he looked stunning.
"Done admiring me? " He mocked.
" You may come in, " I said, rolling my eyes as i escorted him into my house.
We sat on the sofa ; he sat opposite me.
"Do you want anything to drink?" i asked. I had to be polite to guests.
" Nah, I'm good. Anyways, Beth, I'm sorry for my outburst yesterday. I'm also sorry for that kiss. It was wrong of me to kiss you when you're already somebody's girlfriend," He started, looking sad.
My chest ached when i saw him not smiling. It was so unusual. I thought about what he said. Was i sorry that i kissed him back? I don't think so.
" No, don't be sorry. I'm not sorry for kissing you back. It's really okay. I just hope that things won't get awkward between us," I said sincerely, looking into his greenish brown orbs.
He walked to me and bend down before me and took my hands in his.
" It won't be awkward. But Beth, I'd be lying if i said I didn't feel anything for you. It's so hard knowing that I can never be with you. I think the best way for me to get over you is to distant myself. I've thought about this. My friend's and I are leaving to go to another state tomorrow. I'm sorry Beth,"
My heart broke when he said that. Why did he have to leave me? I know it sounds really selfish of me but did he really have to take the easy way out? I frowned at him and nodded my head.
" I hope to talk to you soon Ash. I'll miss you," Was all i said before he left.
His final words were " Not as much as I would,"
Why did my friendship with him have to end up like that. I'm so confused. So confused with my feelings. I knew I felt something for Ashton too but it was wrong. Just like what Ash said, I'm taken. Justin loves me so much and I can't drift away from him because of some dude i met 2 months ago. But at the same time, maybe what i felt for Ashton was more real than Justin.
Justin had to come back to Sydney fast. I need to talk to him.
1 more week to go.
