Sing it Again

Chapter 3

Kevin's POV

I wake up and look over to make sure Vanessa is still sleeping and she is, I quietly get up and walk out of the room with my phone, as I make it in the living room I sit down on the couch and pull up her number, Mallory and Vanessa were close so she was practically family and yes some people would think it is unfair that I am using the fact that I'm her favorite member out of the band to get her to side with me, I press the call button and wait for her to answer the phone.

Mallory's POV

I'm curled up under my blankets with my head buried under them too but I don't get to make to the end of the dream because I'm slowly brought out of my sleep by my phone ringing. "Kevin you're great and all and you are married to a very dear friend of mine but why are you calling me so early in the morning?"

Kevin's POV

As soon as I hear her voice I laughed I knew she liked to sleep in and I also knew how close she was to Vanessa they talked a lot about all kinds of things "I'm sorry I woke you up early but I need your help with something." She takes a deep breath and sighs deeply "How can I help you?" I tell her what has been going on for the past few days and lead up to the problem I am having now "We are trying to see who is going to last longer because she has cut me off until I give her the CD back I wait for her reaction and I hear silence I look to see if she might have hung up on me. "I'm just going to ask this one question that I'm probably going to regret asking but I'm going to anyway, why am I getting involved in this? "Because you are a good friend to both of us and I'm secretly hoping you will choose my side since I'm your favorite member out of the group and I can hook you up." "Nice try you've already hooked me up remember I have posters of you and I have met them, plus Vanessa made you give me your number I'm going back to sleep now." "No wait don't hang up yet." "Yes Kevin?" "So are you on my side or not?" "It depends on what Vanessa has to say when she calls me and you know she will and I plan on getting some more sleep before she calls me which will be when she wakes up." After that I hear a click I throw the phone down on the table and start thinking of a new game plan.

Vanessa's POV

Later on that morning I wake up Later on that morning I wake up and see that Kevin has already gotten out bed we have decided to play things his way but I warned him last night that I would be calling reinforcements I sit up and reach over and pick up my phone and dial the number of my backup person hoping that she would be awake by now I dial the number and wait on her to answer finally I hear a click "Good morning how may I help you today?" She was being moody and sarcastic so I know she is already in a semi bad mood "Kevin hid my CD." "Yes I know this he called me and offered to hook me up if I took his side." "Whatever he offered I can do better?" "Doesn't worry I am already on your side so what exactly do you need me for?" "Simple you are going to help me find where he hid it since you are a few inches taller than me." Mal is silent for a few minutes but I already know that the gears are grinding in her head finally after a few minutes of waiting "I'm in let me know the next time he leaves and we will tear the house apart to look for it." I knew she would have my back and with her extra few inches we could check in the places Kevin could reach.

Kevin's POV

Later on that morning I'm sitting at the table when Vanessa walks in the room "Morning Honey." "Morning Kevin." She purrs at me I look up at her all kinds of thoughts start racing through my head "is she planning something?" "What has she done?" "Is she going to do something to me?" She's messing with my mind she's trying to get me to give in I have to stay strong I can do this. She walks over and sits down then puts her feet in my lap "Do you have any plans today handsome?" I..uh..um I'm supposed to go meet up with the guys again today I can change my plans though and stay with you if you want we could spend the day together?" "No go out have some fun, have some guy time I didn't have much planned for today anyway it will be fine."

Vanessa's POV

Hopefully he would fall for this because the sooner he got out of the house, the sooner I could get my CD back, "Go out and have fun I'm just going to straighten up on the house you could stay and help and we can finally hang those curtains I bought months ago." "I think I will go out with the guys after all have a good day." He kisses me then walks upstairs to go get ready I smile after he walks out of the room happy that he fell for it.
