Chapter 78

TWO MONTHS LATER

Vanessa's POV

I wake up to a really strong pain in my stomach and I know that it is a lot more than just kicking I look over at the clock and see that it is two in the morning I sit up and the pain gets stronger I take in a deep breath then look over at Kevin who is still sleeping sometimes I swear her could sleep through anything just as I go to shake him to wake him up I feel the sheets underneath me dampen and I realize that my water just broke I reach over and start shaking Kevin "Kev wake up."

Kevin's POV

I hear her voice and then when I slowly wake up I feel her shaking me I yawn then mumble "It's two in the morning Nessa what is it?" "It's time Kev." "Ness I love that the hormones have made you want more sex and stuff but you have got to let me get some rest in between." I feel her draw back and slap my arm harder than ever before I sit up and look at her and I see a look on her face that makes me worry "What's wrong?" "It's time Kev I'm in labor and my water has broken we need to go to the hospital." I get out of bed and starting getting dress and she puts on some clothes too then I start looking all over our bedroom "Where's the bag Ness?" "It's in the closet Kev." I run over and grab the bag then I help her out of the house and into the car and speed out of the driveway spraying rocks all over the place. While I'm speeding to the hospital Vanessa looks at me "You're going to get pulled over if you don't slow down." "I can afford to pay a ticket I'm one of the Backstreet boys." She grabs my hand and squeezes it really hard "It hurts Kev." "We are almost there Ness I promise."

Grant's POV

Over the past few months I have become a very light sleeper because any time I feel her move or hear her get up I'm awake instantly to make sure she is okay her phone is right next to her head but she is sleeping through it I reach over and shake her and she opens her eyes and looks at me "What is it warbler?" "Your phone is ringing babe." She sits up and answers it and I start to go back to sleep and a few minutes later she is off the phone and out of bed I look at her and then I am blinded when she turns on our bedroom light "What is it babe?" "We have to go to the hospital Vanessa is in labor." "It's two in the morning though babe." "Look Kev and Vanessa will be there when we have our baby so we will be there when they have our baby.' I get up and we both get dressed then go to the hospital.

Kevin's POV

Things slow down after she is admitted and put in a room they give her an epidural and according to the doctor she is at a five and it could be hours before she is at a ten and ready to push and they suggest that she sleeps while she is waiting I sit in a chair next to her and hold her hand "How are you feeling Ness?" "It doesn't hurt so bed right now and I can't feel anything from the waist down." "That's probably a good thing then." She slowly drifts off to sleep and I lean my head against the chair and watch the lines on the monitor that represent her heart and our baby's.

Vanessa's POV

A few hours later I'm woke up by noises in the room I sit up and see a doctor and a few nurses one of them walks over and checks me and they say I'm at a ten. Kev walks over and stands by the bed and holds my hand and the doctor goes down to the end of the bed and looks at me "We need you to start pushing on three one...two...three." I push and squeeze Kevin's hand as hard as possible. "On three again one....two....three." "Come on Ness you can do this I can see her head now." "Okay last time on three one...two....three.." After the last push I hear a loud cry and I know she's here the nurses take her and start cleaning her up. I feel Kevin press his lips against my head "You did great Ness I'm going to go see her."

Kevin's POV

I walk over to the table and see a very unhappy newborn I look down at her and see my own black hair she opens her eyes and my own are staring back at me the nurse wraps her in a blanket then hands her to me I walk back over to Vanessa and place our baby in her arms and she gently rubs one of her cheeks with a finger "She's beautiful." Vanessa looks up at me and smiles "I told you she would look like you." I reach over and gently take my daughter's hand in my own and she wraps her tiny hand around one of my fingers and I'm hooked "So can I know that baby name now?" Vanessa looks up at me "Kevina Valarie Richardson Kevina means beautiful child." I feel the tears form in my eyes I wipe them away and clear my throat not only would she have my looks but my name as well "Thank you Vanessa." I lean forward and kiss her then I kiss the head full of black hair that belongs to my daughter.
