Emily’s POV;

‘Hi son, finally back from the US I see’, I heard grandpa say and I looked at him with a questioning face. He knew Liam? What? ‘Yes sir’, Liam answerred, ‘How have you been?’ ‘Well, I’ve been ok I guess. I guess you heard from your mother about my son and daughter in law?’ I started to freak out on the inside, they obviously knew eachother very well! ‘Yes, I did, she told me about it, I’m so sorry for you loss.’ ‘I’d almost forget’, grandpa said and he introduced me. ‘Your mom grew up with Liams mom and they were in the same class and pretty much best friends’ grandpa explained. It all made sense now! ‘Yeah, we’ve met this afternoon’, Liam answerred and now grandpa was looking at me questioning. ‘I never made the link between you and her sir’, Liam continued, ‘She did tell me about moving here and living with her grandparents after her parents died, it couldn’t be more obvious’. I just shrugged and started playing with the dogs while Liam and grandpa talked. Apparently grandpa had seen Liam grow up and he lived just a few blocks away at the other side of the park then us. After a while we said goodbye and me and grandpa walked home. ‘He’s a nice guy, Liam’, grandpa said. I just nodded yes. ‘Maybe you can be friends with him like your moms were’, grandpa suggested and I couldn’t help but start hoping we would, he was really nice and I needed some friends around here.
