Nothing Was Ever The Same

April 16th

I haven't really had time to relax because I been working fourteen hours everyday . Amelia is growing taller and taller.Since it's the first time in a month that Aubrey came to Toronto We decided we going to have dinner at my house . We gotten much closer than the last time he was here.

I'm on my way house after a long day at the hospital.And I'm stuck in traffic.I call José

Me:hey Jose
Jose:hey Sis I just picked the girls up hold on..

A minute later she started back talking.

Jose:ok so I'm not going to be able to come to your house we gotta meet somewhere because I have to go to a dentist appointment.
Me:ok I'll take the girls just meet me at the mall since is near both of us.
Jose:alright.

I drove to the mall I got the girls and put them in their car seats.

Me:hey girlies.
Tia:hey TT.
Amelia:hi mommy.
Me:hey pooh how was your day?
Amelia:fun We learn how to count to fourty.
Tia:And we played kitchen.
Me:oh sounds like fun.

I talked to Tia and Amelia all the way home.I parked in the garage.I got the girls out of the car .And we walked in the house.Aubrey was cookinv.I hung my coat and the girls coats up.

Tia:Aubrey
Aubrey:hey Tia how are you?
Tia:I'm happy.
Aubrey:hey Amelia !
Amelia:hey Aubrey .

They went in the living room and amelia turned the tv on.I took my work scrubs off in the laundry room and put my robe on so wouldnt put any germs from the hospital in the rest of the room.I went to my room and washed up and put some pajamas on.Then I washed the girls up.Then I went back downstairs to the kitchen.I hugged Aubrey.

Aubrey:hey babe.
Me:hey
Aubrey:you look really tired.
Me:I am tired,I thought I was going to have to cook for tonight.
Aubrey:nah you good you need to relax.take a seat.
Me:I sat down at the table in the kitchen.
Aubrey:how is the baby?
Me:he's good.the nursery is done all ready.
Aubrey:Is it like we planned it.
Me:exactly how we wanted it to go.

He shifted back and forth between cutting some vegetables and stirring the rice up.
Aubrey:the food should be done in thirty minutes.

I walked to the refrigerator and grabbed me and the girls some pineapples.

Aubrey:Are you that hungry?
Me:yeah
Aubrey:how many hours are you working?
Me:fourteen.
Aubrey:each day?
Me:yeah
Aubrey:why are you overworking yourself?
Me:I'm not .And I need money when the baby gets here.
Aubrey:I told you I got the baby expenses . you just take it easy.
Me:Aubrey I don't depend on a man for things.
Aubrey:you get paid a two hundred thousand dollars a year to work.You can take a break.Listen I know you work hard but take a break for the baby.
Me:ok.
Aubrey:dinner is almost ready.

I leaned on the counter in the side of him.

Me:are you mad at me?
Aubrey:no ,I know your used to surviving on your own but I'm right here.

He looked at me and smile.

Me:I need you to hurry up I'm hungry.

Aubrey:can you fix the table.

I put a cloth over the table. Sat the plates on the counter.

Me:girls go wash you hands and sit at the table.
Aubrey:Now you go sit down at the table.

We all sat down at the table . And we started eating.

Aubrey:how are you two doing?
Tia:I'm good.
Amelia:I'm great.
Aubrey:are you excited about having a baby brother?
Amelia:sure.
Me:what should we name him Jaden ,Jaheim or Aubrey.
Amelia:Jordan
Aubrey:I like that name better.
Me:me too.

Tia:Tete I'm all done.
Me:ok baby go brush your teeth.

She waited on Amelia to finish her food.

Amelia:Mommy I ate all my food.
Me:good baby , go brush your teeth and wash your face.

Tia:tete can you read us a story.
Me:ok baby.

I walked up the stairs.I help the girls get ready for bed.Then I read them a bedtime story.and I kissed the girls goodnight.I turned around Aubrey was standing watching me.

Me:How long have you been standing there.
Aubrey:When you were reading them a story that's so sweet of you.
Me:well That's a normal for them.

I walked back down the stairs.I made the girls lunch then I helped Aubrey clean up.And we sat down on the couch and cuddle he rubbed my stomach.

Me:let's talk about us.
Aubrey:I really like the space were in We good with each other.

We glanced at the tv.

Aubrey:you never told me about your childhood?
Me:you really want to know .
Aubrey:yeah
Me:I grew up in Compton.I didn't have everything I wanted but I had the things I needed. my dad died when I was three My mom took care of me Sometimes me and my brother had meals on the table.I promised her that I would do good in school and get us out of Compton . but she died when I sixteen.Thats the time I met Amelia dad he was my high school sweetheart . Me and my brother lived with him because my family didn't want us.I had a job and I got straight As and Bs while raising my little brother.When I got out of high school I started helping Alonzo with his deals to help my college tuition. When I told him about my pregnancy He didn't take it really well.At that time my brother made it out of California with a one ticket to Florida.Amelia is the only reason why I got out of Compton I'm so thankful for her.I never want her to feel like I'm a bad mom Because I want her to have everything.
Aubrey:you're an amazing mom. No matter what you do because you always provided for her.
Me:I'm nervous for this kid ,you know.
Aubrey:I'm here with you.

He started talking to my stomach.

Aubrey:I don't know it you can hear me but I love you son.
Me:hear that Jay mommy and daddy loves you.
Aubrey:you should take the day off.
Me:I guess I could.

I called my boss since she always work midnights.I told her I needed a day off.

Aubrey:This isn't that bad.
Me:yeah
Aubrey:you can take a day off and catch up on some sleep.

We watched the news then he gave me a back massage Then I gave him one in return.

Aubrey:when was your last time in LA.
Me:when I was pregnant with Amelia.
Aubrey:After the baby or in your last month you wanna go to LA?
Me:I don't know.
Aubrey:You need a vacation.
Me:yeah but LA is home for me.
Aubrey:ok

I feel asleep in his arms.
