When someone you love leaves you stranded with your own thoughts as they walk out of your life forever. It is a scary place you start to question why you ever let them in if they were just going to take your heart and stomp all over it. You start to question what your purpose is in life and what you are meant to do. Without them you feel like you need stitches to try and put back together the pieces of your shattered heart. This is exactly what I went though we the one who I loved greatly walked out of my life forever. This is what happened to me when Isaac Lahey walked out of my life forever and took a massive chunk of my heart with him to France.

For someone to heal from this sort of heartbreak it takes a long time. After dating Isaac for 2 years and then for him to go and break my heart in 2 minutes crushed me. It sent me into a low key depression but nothing that some good lacrosse with my cousin Scott and best friend Liam would help with. The key to getting over Isaac was to surround myself with people who I know would crush me, those who only want the best for me.

I was walking onto the Lacrosse field for the scrummage between Beacon Hills and Davernforth Prep walking beside me was my best friend Liam, my cousin Scott and his spastic best friend Stiles. I was scanning my competition, they were massive. That was when my eyes landed on something that made my heart flutter for the first time since Isaac left. I nudged Liam and leaned over,

"Hey Li Li, who's that?" I asked still looking at the source of my heart flutter.

"Ugh, that's Brett also known as the biggest reason why I got expelled from Davernforth." Liam growled, glaring at Brett.

"Oh, interesting" I said, just as I said that Brett looked up and noticed I was staring at him. I sly smirk formed on his face before he winked taking off his shirt. Damn the kids got abs. The game finished and Beacon Hills smashed all thanks to me distracting their star player Brett. We all charged into the locker rooms cheering, buzzing after the win. Everyone left but me, I was still in the locker room getting changed because I have to wait until everyone leaves as Kira and I are the only girls in the team but Kira wasn't playing today. I was about to leave when Brett walked in.

"Um..Hi," I said

"Hi, I am Brett," He said

"I know," I replied

"I'm Kiyana" I said sticking my hand out for him to shake.

"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl. You were quite distracting on the field today." Brett smirked

"Well I should get going," I said trying to get past him,

"Wait, can I get your number so we can hang out sometime?" Brett asked,

"Sure," I said giving him my number

"Bye Brett," I said walking out of the locker room,

"I'll text you Kiyana." Brett shouted as I left.

-- 3 weeks later --

Brett and I have been texting non stop for the past 3 weeks and we are meeting up today after school in the locker rooms to go get fro yo. After school I had Lacrosse practise afterwards Brett was waiting for me to come out of the locker room.

"Hey Kiyana, it's fro yo time." Brett said walking into the locker room, it was now just Brett and I left.

"Yah, let me just get my stuff," I said running around the locker room looking for various items that belonged to me. I stopped after I packed my bag,

"Done, lets go," I said

"Wait, can I do something I promise it wont be bad," Brett said

"Um.sure" I said not sure of what he meant. Brett started to lean in placing his hand on my cheek, I realised that he was going to kiss me I couldn't believe anyone would like me like that after Isaac. Our lips were millimetres apart when a familiar voice broke us apart.

"Coach are you in here?" I voice said, I thought I was hallucinating it. Brett and I were now a foot apart as the owner of the voice rounded the corner. That's when the familiar scent I love so much came around the corner.

"Isaac?" I gasped

"Kiyana? Is that you?" Isaac replied

"Yeah it is, what-what are you doing here?" I asked

"I came back because I made the worst mistake of my life leaving you like that." He said

"Who's this?" Isaac asked glaring at Brett and how close we were to each other.

"This is Brett a friend of mine." I said literally just friend zoning Brett so badly.

"Oh," Is all he said, why is he glaring at Brett, we broke up well not officially but he left me and didn't call or text or anything so we broke up.

"How have you been since we broke up Isaac?" I asked him

"We didn't break up I just left but now I am back to stay with you." Isaac said

"You left Isaac, you left me broken hearted" I snapped

"But we didn't break up we didn't say that," Isaac said

"Dude, you left her and didn't communicate with her I think you broke up." Brett piped in,

"Dude, how about you back off my girl." Isaac snapped I knew he was close to changing.

"Isaac, control it." I said slowly,

"How am I supposed to control it when the one I love, my anchor loves someone else?" Isaac growled

"Isaac move on, I have" I said

"But I can't, I love you Kiyana," Isaac sobbed,

"I know and I love you and always will you were my first love but we need to find new people to make us happy now it's ok," I said

"Can I hug you one last time?" Isaac stuttered

"Sure Teddy Bear," I said using the nickname I had for him, this caused him to smile softly. We embraced each other, normally this sort of contact with Isaac would cause my heart to flutter. Not this time.

"Did you feel anything?" Isaac asked

"No I didn't" I said softly,

"Neither, I am sorry," Isaac replied

"It's ok now you can find someone else and love them as much as we love each other, we just are no longer together and that's ok," I said kissing his cheek before grabbing Brett's hand which caused my stomach to flip.

"Let's get that fro yo now Brett, bye Isaac." I said before walking out of the locker room.

Brett stopped me when we got to the parking lot of school, he pulled me close and planted his lips to my with such passion. This contact made my heart fluttered and that was when I knew that I was over Isaac. I had a new person I was in love with and it was Brett.
