It was one summer afternoon that you finally had you first conversation with the tanned boy. You two were only 8 years old, even went to the same school but have never had talked until then. Aomine Daiki was a popular kid, with his blossoming talent in basketball and outgoing personality, while you were a wall flower; always just watching from the sidelines.
Since it was summer break, your mom had let you go to the nearby park to play -- saying she'll follow after washing the dishes. On your way there, you came across a basketball court to see Aomine play with much older boys. He had a bright grin as he played, the grin getting much wider when the opponent was stronger than him. And his eyes shone with mirth, as if he really loved the game.
"Eh, (Last Name)-chan?" a female voice snapped you out of your trance to see the pink-haired Momoi Satsuki smiling at you. Momoi was known to be close to Aomine and was all around friendly; she was also one of the few kids who didn't think you were weird.
"Momoi-san," you timidly greeted back
"Are you watching Dai-chan?" she grins "Ne ne, why don't you sit with me then? I'm waiting for him to finish!"
"Umm. N-no thanks. I was just passing by,"
"Eeehhh.. Demo I think Dai-chan would like to meet you," Momoi smiled cutely, pulling you to a bench inside the court on the side. For an eight-year old girl, she was strong that she dragged you easily.
You didn't have a choice so you sat down next to her who started cheering for the dark-blue haired boy. By then Aomine had finally started to score, his speed and flexibility leaving you in awe. Momoi secretly grins and softly giggles, she finally had a chance to introduce you to Aomine.
"Eh Satsuki, who's she?" Aomine asked as he pants, the game had finished and so he went over to where you two were sitting.
"Why don't you introduce yourself?" Momoi elbowed you playfully making you blush a bit.
"(L-Last Name), (F-First Name). Nice to meet you." You bowed a bit, nervous since you weren't used to talking to boys.
Aomine blinked, the name sounding familiar; especially with the grin his pink-haired friend has. "Ummm. Aomine, Daiki" he smiled warmly at you.
This got you blushing deeper that Momoi, and eventually Aomine, to poke your cheek since you froze also.
"Ne~ Look at what you did to her Dai-chan~" Momoi hummed teasingly.
"S-shut up Satsuki! Is she alright?!" Aomine slightly panicked.
"Ehehe, she's so kawaiii~" was the only reply of Momoi.
"Ara (First Name)? You made new friends?" The presence of your mother snapped you out of your trance as the other two looked at her.
"Hai~ I'm Momoi Satsuki, he's Aomine Daiki. Nice to meet you (Last Name)-chan's Mom!" Momoi said enthusiastically.
Your mom smiled at that but told them that you need to go now. Momoi pouted and just hugged you goodbye. Aomine didn't say anything until before you and your mom was about to turn left on a corner.
"Oi (First Name)!" He shouted making you and your mom look back. He awkwardly scratch the back of his neck. "I'm going to play again tomorrow. Will you come again?"
Your eyes widened as your mom chuckled patting your head with a nod so you gave Aomine a smile and a nod before leaving.
Not knowing you left the young boy blushing and the pink-haired girl teasing him of how red he was.
