Time passed by and you attended Seirin with Kuroko. He was determined to join the basketball club so you did too, by being the manager of the team. There you met Kagami Taiga, who made you remember the old Aomine because of his passion in basketball so you drew closer to him. People thought you two were going out because of that closeness but you two just saw each other like siblings.
"Wahhh (Last Name)cchi!" Kise Ryota glomped you as you and the Seirin team arrived at Kaijo for the practice match, "I missed you ssu!"
"Kise, we just saw each other when you visited Seirin," you sweat dropped.
The blonde just pouted and still clung to you all the way to the gym which irked the first year duo. "Kise-kun, please let go of (Last Name)-san," Kuroko appeared in front of the two of you making Kise shiver and jump away.
"Kurokocchi! Hidoi ssu!" he cried dramatically.
"Stop clinging to (First Name)," Kagami said putting an arm around your shoulder.
Kise stopped in confusion. 'No way, (Last Name)cchi and Kagami?' I thought she liked Aominecchi?'
"Taiga, you're heavy!" you whined pushing him away.
Kise continued to be quiet as you two playfully bantered. Kuruko noticed but did nothing to correct his assumption and just jabbed Kagami at the side so that the practice match can start.
-After the practice match-
After the game, you excused yourself saying you have an appointment. Riko nodded telling you to be careful with the senpais nodding in agreement. On your way out you bumped into Midorima who looked surprised to see you.
"Midorima-kun," you blinked already feeling the awkward atmosphere.
The green-haired megane sighed and pushed his glasses up, "Why Seirin nanodayo? Your talent would be wasted. Not that I care or anything,"
You bit your lip, not knowing what to say when a warm and huge jacket fell on your shoulder, "Oi, you'll get cold on the way home," it was Kagami who ruffled your hair and left, not noticing who you were talking to, since the others were waiting.
Midorima was surprised but said nothing, thinking it was none of his business. You sheepishly excused yourself and hurried off leaving him who pulled out his phone and texted someone.
'(Last Name) has attended Seirin with Kuroko'

Inter high came and all was going well until it was time to face Too Academy. You were worried since he was there and didn't know if the team was ready for the ace of the Generation of Miracles. Aomine was absent during the first one and a half quarter but when the tan male finally did came, you felt mix emotions in you.
"Aomine," you whispered, not denying to yourself that you missed him dearly.
As if hearing you, he turned to see you sitting next to the Seirin coach. It took awhile for him to process that you were sitting with his opponent, and he frowned. "(First Name)... So you went with Tetsu huh?" There was something in his voice you can't pinpoint. The arrogant Aomine Daiki was gone for a split second before his smirk came back and he walked to his team's bench.
"(First Name)-chan? Are you okay?" Riko asked, and you realized you were holding your breath.
"Y-Yeah. I'm fine." you chuckled nervously looking away. Why did your heart beat faster when you finally saw him again? You still felt that connection you buried at middle school and it came and hit you hard.
It's simple really, you still loved him and meeting him again made that feeling resurfaced after so long.
